Once upon a time,
in this galaxy, not far away,
someone or something or somethem
created flies.
They were then put onto the earth
with the purpose to eat shit and to clean up dead things
but what their creator had not taken into account
was the invention of sewers.
Since that (un)fortunate event,
there wasn't enough shit to eat ( at least not above ground )
and thus flies lost their purpose
after which they started harassing animals and people.
In other words: they became annoying bullies.
And then, a week or two ago, they took up the plan to start bugging Portugal ( and yours truly), once again.
What the f**** didn't realize, was that I would profit from swatting them, journaling about the process, thus earning sweet crypto.
Vincent 1 - 0 Flies
This is a follow up to yesterday's like swatting flies which doesn't talk about me 'liking' swatting flies, although I must admit that this action brings me some temporary relief.
If you haven't done so already, you might want to swat deal with that post first.
This morning, I figured out that the flies have clearly found a way to creep through the insect-grids that have been installed in front of some of my windows. I use those exact windows ( next to my kitchen and in my bedroom ) to get some fresh air in. This is easier said than done, as I only have windows on one side of my apartment, the other side is a shared staircase, which makes airing the place kind of challenging.
A good reason for me to spend even more time outdoors than I already tend to do
So how did they make it past the fly-grids?
The little buggers seem to have mutated and grown their tiny brains.
I recently learnt that flies like to enter places that are warmer than outdoors and as long as I can't cool down my apartment ( for that I need to open my windows ), they will like my place. It does not help that the weather is getting cooler and below (my) room temperature, these days.
So I guess the fly hunt continues, for the time being.
They say time 'flies', when you're having fun, so let's focus on having fun, as much as we can
a good thing to aim for overall, in our daily lives.

Earlier this afternoon, I pixel-arted ( yes I made up that verb ) a fly swatter for a mini game ( for lack of a better word ) that I started on, today.
I might never share the game - unless enough of you beg
or should I say bug?
me to do so,
but I can at least share a screenshot, right?
Whether it's due to the mini game ( or the closed windows ) or not, I seem to have done a decent job with the flies today. Aside from one landing on the top of my laptop screen, just now and one or two making noise, trying in vain to escape from the glue rolls that hang in a couple of strategic places in my living room, there hardly seem to be any flies left.
And then one landed on my knee. I'll try to ignore it.
It's hard...
near impossible
I think I have to end this post here and
SWAT
it to fly heaven hell
where it will be eate by fellow flies
Yes, I will SWAT it
just like the avatar in my mini game is about to do,
after it has found the fly swatter:
Enjoy your day!
P.S. If you like to read more posts about pests, I suggest you check out my friend @selfhelp4trolls ' The Rats in the Walls a post that brings back memories to my days living in old houses in The Netherlands, although it's fair to say that we were dealing with mice there.
