For way too long I have been trading like a madman, risking way too much and going by way too little actual strategy. It felt like confusion was in the air and a lot of excuses kept creeping up, a lot of "soul-searching" about too many fundamental parameters and - of course -finding the bits and pieces of trading strategies that would bring me success.
It's not like I just watch a bunch of different youtubers throwing about all sorts of indicators, fundamental analyses and trivia just so that I can arrive at a decision. A good two years ago I decided it was finally time to put my money where my mouth is so that I could eventually earn the money to be able to feed my mouth. lol.
And so I sifted through a vast majority of trading channels out there, claiming to have great offers for courses and on "teaching you the ropes of trading".
Ended up with two courses - the first by the rather popular chartguys, Dan and his crew following a rather simple trading strategy that mostly involves exponential moving averages but completely ignores structure. I have been following the chartguys for years now, and I do still use Dan's take on the market once in a while, but I felt it was never quite the strategy for me. Maybe I want it to be complicated or weird or something but somehow the course didn't really do much for me.
It was an alright course I guess but to be honest, nothing much that you couldn't glimpse from his amazing youtube work he puts out for free. Watch him long enough and you'll be able to execute precisely his strategy... but as I said, something seemed to be missing: The context of price action. It seemed to be too random to just work out, but I have to say that I believe he has his strategy down so well, he can totally live off of his profits from trading and I wish him all the best. If you think you aren't the brightest and want a dead straight strategy you can use on any chart you may just want to check out the chartguys for countless and regular free videos on how to trade like Dan and his crew.
As I said, it never seemed good enough for me though. I wanted a better grasp on price action, and trend lines (based on my own few trading experiments at the time) seemed to be too important to be completely disregarded in favor of EMA's.
Really wanted to get the course with the exceptional Francis Hunt (the @cryptosniper whom I have already mentioned in part one of my "Elevating the game series" that is somewhat controversial but toally worth checking out. Francis is one of my crew for sure, you won't find many people out there with such a scope for worldly events and connections (some may call him conspiratorial for their lack of research and insight). But as for his trading course I have to say - his course was and still is too steep for me, not able to afford it. It does however seem like it is worth every cent of what you pay to learn his HVF method, so if you want to throw down a considerable chunk of cash just to learn one of the best methods out there you might want to check out Francis and his work at www.themarketsniper.com or one of his three youtube channels - The Crypto Sniper.
Finally I came across Bitraged, one of the crypto-heavy channels that was quite despised by many, mainly because they heeded people to be cautious of jumping into cryptos right after the phenomenal bull run when everybody thought we would be at 100k BTC in no time at all. And well, time proved them right - they warned people of the crash from the low 6000's downwards and they did a lot of good journalism on the shady mechanics behind USD Tether, to name but one example. I was following their work for a while until they announced they would start a course for those people out there sick of being at the whim of some youtuber-kiddo who throws around 12 different trading signals and indicators as if it were a safe bet to trade solely based on those.
I opted to give Bitraged's course "Trading Forex and Cryptocurrency" a try and well I gotta say I am starting to see the merit of what I learned there.
