PVC failure in the Walipini!
I believe I have seen dozens of YouTube videos and read dozens of blog post about using pvc in greenhouses. The only warning I can recall seeing is to paint it with uv resistant paint or it will get brittle

What would you do if you where not afraid?
Hell of question Justin Rhodes and his wife discussed that lead to the Great American Farm Tour on YouTube. Something I thought about often this last year. After much deliberation and research the wife

Been a good year for peppers!
Our pepper plants are in overdrive this season. Been a great season. Freeze them, eat them and pickle them. Definitely the largest habaneros I have ever grown. Happy homesteading.!

Where eagles fly!
Pretty cool to see my neighborhood Bald eagle now has partner in crime. Last year there was only one. My children, ages 4 and 7 are not impressed and sadly, I didn't get any good photos of the eagle pair

Hatch number 2 sex linked muscovies.
One of our muscovies picked our carport to build a nest in. 14 new ducklings thus far. Completely unplanned, but handy our chocolate drake gave us sex linked duckling. Meaning the female ducklings are

Busy time if the year, and some duck math.
Our very noisy baby geese have grown from yellow to white in 5 weeks and are surprisingly quiet. I thought our less than a year old livestock guard dog would need extensive supervision before they could

Hugelkulture bed examination.
Taking a look at our 2 year old hugel beds. This bed was falling over, so I thought I would give the world a look whilst I had it dug up. I have tried alot of gardening methods, and I like hugelkulture

Ready for decent weather!
Notice the flat sitting on a rafter, because I can't find one more space to put it! I have moved out pansie flowers and lettuce to our unheated greenhouse, and might get by moving out some other stuff

Spring time, is the best time!
I love this time of year. Lambs are dropping, plants are popping. We had a muscovy hatch out ducklings. That's pretty amazing to me since she hatched them under a board, outside in horrid weather conditions.

Solar power and my political atheism.
Why I detest political parties. I am a conservative person. I also love freedom, even if that freedom is at odds with things I don't like or approve of. I believe in free market principles. My beliefs

Snow damage to our walipini greenhouse.
Rough night on the homestead. Suffered damages to our greenhouse, nothing that can't be fixed. It was touch and go for a bit. Luckily I noticed it on a late night trip to the bathroom. That's a win for

Nice weather for a duck.
Pretty common saying where I grew up in reference to lots of rain. Like most good phrases I believe this one is rooted in truth. When its cold and sleeting ice. Our ducks just go about doing ducky stuff.
