So, let’s get started with removing Google Chrome browser cookies.
Just a Reminder
Cookies are tiny data files that sites use to store info on you and your surfing habits. They will be utilized to learn your likings or following you for promotional reasons. There are several kinds of cookies. Some will be helpful, while others might endanger your confidentiality.
Although you are aware that some cookies are helpful and don't store up a lot of data, you nonetheless probably want to avoid a web browser from following your activities.
How to Scrub Google Chrome Browser Cookies
It is simple to locate and remove cookies in Google Chrome. However, you nonetheless must check on them periodically. To delete them:
1. Open the Chrome browser.
2. Click the three dots (stacked vertically) in the upper-upper-right hand corner.
3. Click on “More Tools”.
4. Select “Clear browsing data”.

If you wanted to delete all cookies, or just curious about where it is and what the file looks like, keep reading. To manually locate the cookies on a Windows computer, so you know where Windows stores them, we have provided the steps A – G in the following text.
You can remove the cookies file since Chrome puts them into a single file lying within a file referred to simply as “Cookies.” Though, we highly recommend this procedure only if you have problems finding and removing cookies using the steps laid out in the previous section.
To locate the file:
1. Press the ‘WINDOWS’ and ‘R’ keys simultaneously.
2. Then type %appdata%.
3. Press Enter.
4. From that point, go back a folder to ‘AppData’ by clicking on it where the arrow is pointed to

5. Select 'Local', then 'Google', then 'Chrome', then 'User Data', then 'Default'.
Note: This is the complete path to the folder: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default )
6. Scroll down until you see the cookies file.
7. To remove the cookies file, click once on the ‘Cookies’ file annotated in the image above and hit the ‘DEL’ key…OR…return to step number 6 at the beginning of this tutorial and click the “Clear Data” button
That is all there is to it. Your cookies are gone…for now.
Note: In this example, the cookie file was a total of 2,368KB, which is 2.3125MB. For some context as to how much this is, and how much space it takes up, just consider the old 3.5-inch floppy disks could only hold around 1.44 MB of data. So, it would take almost two of the old 3.5-inch floppy drives just to hold the cookies currently on this computer… and it is cleaned at least once per month.
Manage Cookies in More Detail
Moving forward, you may manage cookies in more detail. To accomplish that:
1. At the Chrome address bar, type ‘chrome://settings/content’.
2. Click on ‘Cookies and site data’.
It is possible to tell Chrome never to keeps cookies. It is uncommon to make this choice, but that's an option when you want zippo tracking in the future. To do this:
3. Turn off ‘Allow sites to save’ as well as ‘read cookie data’ (suggested).
4. You can also prevent third-party cookies (as outlined above) applying the appropriate option.
For a summary of any cookies saved on your computer:

You can even delete certain cookies when closing Chrome. To do this:
6. Select “Add” across from “Clear on exit” and type the URL of whatever page you do not want to track you.
