Mike Wird was has a hella-hip-hop style, real gritty and down to Earth content. The way he moves and even the way he spits at times is reminicent of Heiroglyphics, specifically Del the Funky Homosapien. A much welcomed style-angle, adding yet another unique flavor to this talented arsenal of artists.
"Old-School" is how I would describe this man's approach to Hip Hop, which is right up my alley - most people say my style is also old-school (but in a very different way than his). I captured a few of Mike's tracks in this video from the Cosmic Showcase show, applied some cool inversion effects too.
I still have a few acts to post from this event. Along with @alaisclay & @illuminaticongo, I also have yet to post the videos from the instrumental stage (native flutes hand-crafted from bamboo by the performer), and a funny side show that went on between some of the sets - we call them "the Hip-Hop Jugglers". Then I can get to posting videos from the second show in Sellwood Park (outside show). Stay tuned...
