In addition to the immense talent at the Truth-Hop stage, there was a second impromptu stage sporting conscious instrumentals. Calin, the brother leading this charge - crafts his own native flutes by hand out of bamboo he collects himself locally.
This was a much needed alternate vibe over in the octagon room separate from the main stage. There were also many points at which other musicians teamed up on this stage as well. The lighting from the windows/cars driving by provided a really cool visual effect on the walls. I am 100% getting this guy in my studio with his flutes to collaborate as soon as I can manage it.
Between sampling these flutes, now having access to a DJ that scratches Hip Hop on vinyl, all the amazing female vocalists, and other local talented conscious emcees I met recently, I now have everything I could could dream of for collaboration surrounding me. Self Owned Souls is getting stronger by the day - about to be in full swing.
