Ruleset Focus

In this week's Battle Mage Secrets, we shall dive into exploring the STAMPEDE
ruleset that is often neglected in the battle setup for most players.
This ruleset gives the Trample ability the fascinating potential to infinitely retrigger as long as the trampling unit keeps eliminating other units. To make the most of this ruleset, you'll need a unit that already possesses the Trample ability to kick things off! 😁
Abilities Focus

The Trample ability is an ideal fit for the STAMPEDE
ruleset. With the Trample ability, Melee monsters equipped with this ability gain the advantage of launching an extra attack (ONCE) against the subsequent enemy monster should they defeat their primary target. Yet, in conjunction with the STAMPEDE
ruleset, the Trample ability is CONTINUOSLY reactivated as long as the Trampling unit continues to eliminate the targeted unit! 😤
Summoner Focus

Summoner, Possibilus The Wise
The moment the STAMPEDE
ruleset makes an appearance, it's hard not to think about a particular Summoner. This ruleset harmonizes beautifully with Possibilus The Wise, the Water Summoner from the Chaos Legion Edition. With the power to bestow the formidable Trample ability to the entire lineup, Possibilus The Wise's abilities granted would mesh perfectly with the STAMPEDE
ruleset, as mentioned earlier 😍
The Battle
While fulfilling my responsibilities in the Splinterlands scholarship account I have with Balthazar, bltzr-wizard-729, I was able to engage in a battle that involves the STAMPEDE
ruleset and it truly showcased how terrifying the ruleset could be when used appropriately. To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.

To get started, let's take a closer look at the rules that shape this battle. First, there's the Earthquake ruleset, causing non-flying Monsters to suffer 2 Melee damage at the end of each round. Then, the star of the show, the STAMPEDE
ruleset, which we've already explored in-depth in the sections above. Lastly, the Are You Not Entertained? ruleset allows players to include one additional Gladiator card in the battle. The battle abides by a mana limit of 60 and restricts the use of only the Death Splinter.

Summoner, Quix The Devious
Given the influence of the Earthquake ruleset, the decision to opt for Quix The Devious as my Summoner primarily revolves around the Dragon Monsters I intend to deploy in this battle, especially the Chaos Dragon. The substantial mana limit impose on this battle favors the selection of the Dragon Summoner, offering the flexibility to combine high mana costing Dragon Monsters with another Splinter of choice. Additionally, the Summoner's -1 Range and -1 Speed debuffs present valuable tactical advantages during battles 😄

First Position, Uriel The Purifier
Uriel The Purifier emerged as an excellent choice for the pivotal tank position, primarily due to its remarkable Health and Armor statistics. With the Flying ability, Uriel The Purifier remains unaffected by the Earthquake ruleset and enjoys a 25% chance of evading attacks from Monsters lacking this trait. Furthermore, its Heal ability played a vital role, replenishing up to 4 health per round. Coupled with its substantial Health, Uriel proved to be a dependable and resilient tank throughout the battle 💪

Second Position, Carnage Titan
The Carnage Titan stands as an absolute powerhouse on the battlefield, boasting incredible statistics and remarkable abilities. Placed in the second position despite being a Melee unit, it maintains its offensive prowess, courtesy of the Reach ability. Furthermore, its Double Strike ability enables the Carnage Titan to unleash devastating blows on the enemy. To add to its resilience, the Shield ability ensures that the Carnage Titan sustains only 1 damage instead of 2, countering the effects of the Earthquake ruleset! 😝

Third Position, Venari Marksrat
With the advent of the Martyr ability, Venari Marksrat has become a linchpin in my battle tactics. I've placed it strategically between the Carnage Titan and Chaos Dragon, with the expectation that it will fall early in the battle due to enemy's attack or the Earthquake's damages, it will grant a significant boost to the adjacent monsters. This calculated move is designed to bolster my primary attacking units, giving them the advantage needed to secure victory in the battle! 🙂

Fourth Position, Chaos Dragon
Despite its relatively high mana cost, the Chaos Dragon unquestionably justifies every single mana spent, emerging as an absolute juggernaut on the battlefield. While the Scattershot ability might introduce some unpredictability, not exactly my preferred choice in battle, the Chaos Dragon consistently inflicts heavy damages among the enemy's ranks. Additionally, the potential for an extra Martyr stat boost, triggered upon Venari Marksrat's demise, only enhances its potency. Again, having the Flying ability in my lineup proves particularly useful especially within the Earthquake ruleset! 😜

Fifth Position, Adelade Brightwing
Adelade Brightwing's Repair ability diligently rejuvenates the Armor of my frontline Monsters, Uriel The Purifier and Carnage Titan, establishing a robust defensive shield that bolsters my team's resilience during the battle. Moreover, Adelade Brightwing enhances the team's agility with a +1 Speed boost through her Swiftness ability. Most importantly, her Resurrect ability plays a critical role in my strategy, with the aim of reviving Venari Marksrat, who possesses the Martyr ability, to provide my lineup with a substantial double stat boost! ✌️

Last Position, War Pegasus
War Pegasus comes with the Flying ability, shielding it from the devastating effects of Earthquake and bestowing upon it an impressive +25% evasion chance against Melee or Ranged attacks from adversaries lacking the Flying attribute. Additionally, it possesses the Shatter ability, which can swiftly dismantle the target's armor with a single strike, leaving the opponent's tank vulnerable for my frontline to seize the opportunity and prevail! 😵
The Analysis

Despite the wide range of Splinters at our disposal for this battle, my expectation was that the opponent would also opt for the Dragon Splinter, capitalizing on Monsters with Flying ability to mitigate the Earthquake's effects. To my surprise, I did found myself facing against a Dragon Summoner but in the form of a Brighton Bloom, endowing the entire enemy lineup with the Flying ability instead! 🙌

As evident from my battle formation, I prioritized the use of Flying units due to my concerns about the Earthquake ruleset. However, I greatly underestimated the impact of the STAMPEDE
ruleset, which ultimately prove disastrous. The GIF above illustrates just how misguided my strategy was, as my Monsters fell one by one to the Desert Dragon's relentless Trample attacks within a single round! 😖
