Based on the presently available information, the introduction of Rebellion brings forth a plethora of new elements to the game. As is customary with any new release, acclimating to the inclusion of new Monster cards necessitates some time as it shifts the dynamics of battles. However, beyond these new Monster cards, there are also forthcoming introductions such as New Abilities, Multi-Element Summoners, and Summoner Tactics. Here's a quick overview of some of these changes.
New Abilities

Multi-Element Summoners & Summoner Tactics

To be honest, grappling with the simultaneous introduction of all these modifications can be rather daunting. Therefore, the arrival of Rebellion is sure to bring about a substantial transformation in the way battles are waged, potentially rendering our established strategies less effective 😕
Ability Focus
Without any delay, let's jump right into the subject I want to dive into for this week's Social Media Challenge post, which is presented in a fresh format, focusing on the imminent arrival of the Rebellion edition. This post will primarily revolve around the FLANK
ability among the four newly introduced abilities!

Flank
As detailed in Splinterlands' team information, the FLANK
ability operates in a unique manner. When a unit with this ability is positioned in the first slot, the second unit inherits the Reach ability. This mechanic enhances the strategic aspects of the game by emphasizing the importance of unit placement and tactical maneuvers. Consequently, your leading duo can now collaboratively target and weaken the opposing tank, granting you a competitive edge through calculated positioning and clever surprise attacks!
Here are some of the obvious traits that this ability would have:
Flank is a passive ability that would be activated when the Monster is placed in the first position
Flank ability would grant the Monster in the second position the Reach ability
Flank ability would only be beneficial to a Melee Monster that is in the second position
Flank ability would lose its effectiveness if the Monster in the second position possess either the Sneak or Opportunity ability as this would then override the Reach ability that is granted

- Flank ability would then lose its effectiveness in the below rulesets for obvious reasons

Based on my understanding of how the FLANK
ability functions, it seems to work in a manner similar to the effects that Possibilus The Wise, the Summoner, bestows upon the team.

Possibilus The Wise
The Water Summoner hailing from the Chaos Legion Edition, possesses the capability to extend the Reach ability across the entire lineup. Additionally, it bolsters the team by boosting their Health stats with a +2 bonus and equips them with the formidable Trample ability.

The Reach ability enables all Melee attacking Monsters to strike from the second position in the team, granting them the capacity to attack effectively despite their placement.
The introduction of the FLANK
ability primarily benefits Melee Monsters, enhancing their battlefield potential. By positioning a Monster with the FLANK
ability in the first position, the Melee attacking Monsters listed below can now be strategically placed in the second position, expanding their strategic value in the battle.

The aforementioned Monsters are formidable Melee attacking units with distinct advantages. Some boast the Piercing ability, which not only penetrates the opponent's Armor but also inflicts additional damage to the target's Health. Others wield the Double Strike ability, enabling them to unleash a flurry of attacks while safely positioned in the second slot. There are also Monsters with hybrid attacking capabilities, granting them the potential to strike twice in a single round since the Melee attacks are now being enabled by the Reach ability gained. The FLANK
ability undoubtedly enhances the effectiveness of these already potent Monsters! 💪
However, it's important to consider that if you intend to employ the FLANK
strategy, especially within the Water Splinters, it's recommended to base your tactics around utilizing Possibilus The Wise as your Summoner instead. This choice provides the added benefit of acquiring the Trample ability, which synergizes exceptionally well with Melee Monsters. With Trample, these Monsters have the opportunity to execute an additional attack against the next enemy unit in line after defeating their initial target, offering a potent advantage in battle! 😜
What do you guys think about the FLANK
ability? Am I understanding it correctly? 😅
