Hypersensitivosaurus strolled through his garden, locking his eyes and other overdeveloped senses on the tiny tea plants in his recently installed veggie garden.
This little story is a follow up to yesterday's write up Hypersensitivosaurus goes Cold Turkey - dreams of raspberry pie and buys eggs for Hive
Although a handful of plants had popped out of the earth, recently, thanks to the copious amounts of water falling from the sky, they were far from ready to harvest and witch-brewing into a warm, healing drink.
And then it hit him:
Why not go for fennel tea instead?
There was plenty of fennel around, growing wild, among the grass, brambles and the abundant mimosa trees. And where the latter was multiplying like rabbits and could be considered a plague, the fennel itself was easy to pluck and turn into a healthy brew and it added to the green landscape, healing by sight alone.
Hypersensitivosaurus just had to make sure that he rinsed the possible pee off it. It wasn't unlikely that Mildly-Mannered Wolf or another canine or feline creature had marked their territorium out here - eventhough they knew it belonged to their friendly giant lizard buddy.
Or, perhaps, they just had to relieve themselves, without time to make it back to their own pissing places.
Where, yesterday, he could only feel sorry for himself, Cold Turkey had now made place for warm tea.
No matter how much he liked his big bird friend, he didn't like to feel like it. Empathizing with someone was one thing but doing it 24/7, like the day before, feeling utterly miserable, was another story.
Minutes later, slowly sipping the warm fennel tea from a stone cup, Hypersensitivosaurus started thinking of his feather friend, Cold Turkey, once again. He wondered how she was doing. Hopefully not as poorly as he had been the day before.
Right that moment, he decided to invite her for a cup of herbal tea one day soon. Who knows, it might have an healing effect on her too. He just had to make sure not to pour her too much tea, otherwise she might dissolve into nothingness.
Cold Turkey - ( Too much ) Herbal Tea = 0
As is usually the case, this story was based on my real life. I actually drank fennel tea, from fennel plucked from my garden, yesterday. I drank other ( Spanish ) tea ( from Sevilla ), just now. It's day 2 without coffee and I'm feeling way better than yesterday. Eventhough I didn't sleep great, I had a bunch of ( mrs. ) mosquitos inside my mosquito net and I had a headache yesterday night, I woke up earlier than expected and quite fresh ( highly uncommon for me ).
There's also actual plants sprouting at the spot where I planted two tea plants, weeks ago. I'm just not sure whether they are the actual tea plants or wild seedlings that ended up in the earth or were already there, waiting to be fed. It's exciting though and I plan to post another garden update soonish.
Have an amazing day and take it easy with your coffee intake.
Tea can be very nice too ;<)
The picture above this post is a cut out of an art work, that I tried to sell as an NFT, over a year ago. More on that in Hypersensitive Toes I felt it fit this story and decided to use it here, as an illustration.
