A great many people get excited for Friday. It's the start of the weekend once thr work day is over, so that's understandable. Many people even get excited for Wednesday (also known as "Hump Day") because it is the middle of the week which started on Sunday.
But Monday? Not so much.
Just as many people get grumpy about Monday as get excited for Friday. Monday is the beginning of the work week, so Friday-- and, therefore, the weekend-- is many days away. Monday sets the tone for the rest of the week, and the grumpy people set a grumpy tone for the rest of their respective weeks.
While it's not commonly done, Monday can be seen as the opportunity to achieve greatness for the 40-hour work week (or 80-hour week, or 4-hour week, whatever kind of week you have for work). It can also be seen as a reset to get past a lousy week and focus on making the new week a good one.
