The buds have been drying for around 5 days and feeling nice and light now. The strong smell of wet buds has mostly faded now, and with the humidity levels stable in the room I am drying them its time to cure them. I placed them in jars and only filled them to half, this way they can cure very well and I can easily move them around to make sure the bottom buds gets as much air as the top buds.
It is time for another guess the weight contest, the winner gets 10 Hive. See details at the bottom of the post.
The buds are smaller than what I am used to, and they are quite airy. The smell is fruity, I wonder how much of that will come through in the vape and smoke flavor.
Still I see many crystals on the buds so they are quite resinous. I think they will be strong, no idea the THC percentage, but with the powerful lights I use along with good nutrients I am hoping on the upper end above 20%
I will be curing them for the next few months, hopefully by 4/20 I can taste it. Only a month away, so hopefully that is enough time, otherwise waiting around 3 months to fully cure is the plan.
A process called "burping" I release the gases from the curing buds. At first opening the jars a few times a day, then eventually twice a day and then finally once a day.
Only one of the seven jars is a quarter full, the others are all half full to by best abilities.
I wonder how much of the green color will fade, my sour diesel has lost much of its brightness over time. A few of the buds were turning purple so there are touches of lilac coloring throughout.
They look real tasty, I need to be patient though. If I tried them now they would taste like grass mostly...lol
Another crate mostly filled up, it is less than my last harvest. But with the unexpected changes in my plants being autos I think I did well enough.
Leave a comment on this post with your guess of the total harvest weight of the Zebra Stripe in grams, jar weight not included.
After seven days I will announce the winner and send the 10 Hive to the person that got the closest.
