Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 155, Edition 03 of our Weekly Featured Content.
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week which is “ANOTHER COUNTRY”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic which was “SOCIAL MEDIA”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community sharing with us their opinions about social media being taught as a subject in schools so that children can have enough knowledge about it before they finally begin to make use of it.
We got to hear different opinions on this subject matter. Many supported it, citing how dangerous social media could be to kids and how teaching them about it from an early age would be beneficial. However, not everyone supports this idea. All in all, it was an enlightening topic indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w155e2 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors will be listed below.
Featured Contents
EDUCATING NEW COMERS TO SOCIAL MEDIA by @aaalviarez
This author also agrees with the idea. Especially because it’s one that can easily be done without the students needing to own phones. He says it’s better the students are taught about social media before they own mobile devices so that when they finally get them, they’ll be more responsible in handling it.
INTEGRATING SOCIAL MEDIA RELATED COURSES IN ACADEMIC CURRICULUM by @emrysjobber
For this author, he talked about the unique opportunities provided by social media and also the downsides that came with using the platforms as well. He agrees with the idea of having social media taught in schools and while it doesn't guarantee that there won’t be threats on the platforms anymore, it sure helps to prepare the children for what they would be in for when they come online.
SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE CURRICULUM @momogrow
For this author, she also supports the idea. As a course in school, it will very well make a world of difference and the risks that are faced today on social media will be minimized because everyone will have a better handle on how they deal with issues that arise from social media. Schools will be a safe place for children to learn everything they need to about social media.
All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (@melinda010100) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.
But then, we have some honorable mentions which are listed below:

These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional as well.
