I recently found out about the existence of this community. I hadn't had the opportunity to post here and I was wondering what I could do to start doing it, so I thought of something related to the main theme of the community, aliens.
Although I understand that it doesn't have to be precisely about aliens, I wanted to do something like this and this digital drawing was what came out. I will tell you the step by step of this creative work and at the end I will show you the complete result. I hope you like this drawing which I titled "The Alien Boy".
Why "The Alien Boy"? The truth occurred to me while I was imagining how it would be a movie where an Alien infiltrates an elementary school and murders of children begin to occur. Everyone is alarmed without knowing that it is the alien infiltrated as a child who will kill them all little by little, not only in the school but in the whole town ...
As I told you, this is a digital drawing I made in Medibang Paint Pro. Below you can see the initial strokes:

I wanted the face of this Alien Boy to show evil, but not just unbridled evil like that of someone angry, no, but the evil of someone who is enjoying the acts he is doing.
That's why I drew eyes that give off madness, accompanied by a smile that complements and accentuates more this madness that I tried to capture in this little alien.

As for what colors to use for the clothes, I immediately thought of Freddy Krueger's clothes, an iconic character in horror movies. Although I didn't use the same colors, I did use a striped outfit.
As for the skin color, I was debating between my own light skin color and a more eccentric color, like an alien would have.
I thought that this light blue color I chose would be the revealed form of this alien infiltrator, along with his little antennae and huge black eyes that are far from the appearance of an ordinary child. I also painted the hair with a similar tonality, which does not resemble any common human hair color.
I could say that the drawing is colored and it would be fine, but it lacks shading, improving the background and lighting. I will tell you more about this process, but this is how the drawing was looking at this point:
For the shadows I used the same colors of both the clothes and the skin, only in a darker shade to create the excess on one side of the body, as one would be darker than the other, as if it was revealing itself with that strange appearance from within the darkness...

By changing the background to a dark one you can see that the shadows are better and it looks great, as if it had been hidden in the dark. Although this background is not completely black, it has on the left a crimson part that is not very noticeable, but there it is.
The last detail to add to the drawing is in the eyes. Since he is an alien, I drew his eyes with a red dot, as if it were an eye with biomechanical parts that he has used to enhance his body.
To give a crystalline effect to the eyes, I also added a white glow in one of the corners of the eyes, as if they were reflecting the light of a lamp in the room he is in.

Finally I added the font to the image and edited it a bit to give it a cooler effect, similar to the font in the movie IT.

What did you think of the drawing? I loved it and if I had better drawing skills to make them with a more realistic style, it would look great for sure.

Hace poco me enteré de la existencia de esta comunidad. No había tenido oportunidad de postear por acá y me preguntaba qué podía hacer para comenzar a hacerlo, así que pensé en algo relacionado con la temática principal de la comunidad, los aliens.
Aunque entiendo que no tiene que ser precisamente sobre aliens las publicaciones que se hagan, sí quise hacer algo así y este dibujo digital fue lo que salió. Les comentaré el paso a paso de esta obra creativa y al final les mostraré el resultado completo. Espero les guste este dibujo al que titulé "The Alien Boy"
¿Por qué "The Alien Boy"? La verdad se me ocurrió mientras imaginaba cómo sería una película en donde un Alien se infiltra en una escuela de primaria y comienzan a ocurrir asesinatos de niños. Todos se alarman sin saber que es el alien infiltrado como niño el que los irá matando a todos poco a poco, no solo en la escuela sino en todo el pueblo...
Como ya les comenté, es un dibujo digital que hice en Medibang Paint Pro. A continuación pueden ver los trazos iniciales:

Quería que el rostro de este Alien Boy mostrara maldad, pero no solo maldad desenfrenada como la de alguien enojado, no, sino maldad de alguien que está disfrutando de esos actos que está haciendo.
Por eso dibujé unos ojos que desprenden locura, acompañados por una sonrisa que complementa y acentúa más esta locura que traté de plasmar en este pequeño alien.

En cuanto a qué colores usar para la ropa, pensé de inmediato en la ropa de Freddy Krueger, un emblemático personaje en películas de terror. Aunque no usé los mismos colores, si usé una vestimenta de rayas.
En cuanto al color de piel, me estuve debatiendo entre el propio color piel claro y un color mas excéntrico, como el que tendría un extraterrestre.
Pensé que este color azul claro que elegí sería la forma revelada de este alien infiltrado, junto con sus antenitas y ojos negros y enormes que distan mucho de la apariencia que tendría un niño común y corriente. El cabello también lo pinté con una tonalidad similar, que no se parezca a ningún color común del cabello humano.
Podría decir que el dibujo está coloreado y estaría bien, pero le falta sombra, mejorar el fondo y la iluminación. Les contaré más de este proceso, pero así iba quedando el dibujo en este punto:
Para las sombras usé los mismos colores tanto de la ropa como de la piel, solo que en una tonalidad más oscura para crear la sobra en un lado del cuerpo, pues una estaría más oscura que la otra, como si se estuviese revelando con esa apariencia extraña desde dentro de la oscuridad...

Al cambiar el fondo por uno oscuro pueden ver que se ven mejor las sombras y se ve genial, somo si hubiese estado oculto en la oscuridad. Aunque este fondo no es completamente negro, tiene a la izquierda una parte carmesí que no se nota demasiado, pero ahí está.
El último detalle para agregar al dibujo es en los ojos. Como es un alien, le dibujé los ojos con un punto rojo, como si fuese un ojo con partes biomecánicas que ha usado para mejorar su cuerpo.
Para dar un efecto cristalino a los ojos, también agregué un brillo blanco en una de las esquinas de los ojos, como si estuvieran reflejando la luz de una lámpara en la habitación en la que está.

Finalmente agregué la fuente a la imagen y la edité un poco para darle un efecto más genial, similar a la fuente de la película IT.
De esta manera quedó terminado el dibujo, aquí una imagen del resultado:
¿Qué les pareció el dibujo? A mi me encantó y si tuviera mejores habilidades en el dibujo para hacerlos con un estilo más realista, seguro quedaría genial.
