Although Keyword Density is getting less important, optimizing your content with a good keyword density will give you an edge in the search results.
However, it should be kept in mind that Keyword Density should never be overdone. It is better to have a low keyword density than a high keyword density. Even with a low keyword density, there is a good chance that your focus keyword will be picked by Google.
On the other hand, having a high keyword density is a bad quality signal, which might hurt your ranking in the search engines results.
While there is no perfect keyword density but a keyword density of 1 to 1.5% is considered to be sufficient in most cases. And the most important thing is to keep your language natural because if search engines don't pick on the high keyword density, your users will.
