Our Champions for the Week:
(May 20 - 26, 2024)

Upon entering, you are surrounded by an atmosphere that transports you to a bar of the time. It has a design with elements of the 50's, which makes you feel as if you were stepping back in time. For me it was a wonderful experience, since that was a time of splendor for Cuban rhythms.

When I arrived at the cemetery, I left behind the traditional thinking that makes us see it as "a sad place that should not be entered". I preferred to look at it as a place where very important people in our lives rest, and enjoy its unique design, which distinguishes it as one of the most important necropolis of the American continent.

I think brick would be more durable with less maintenance over time and likely less chance of water leakage than wood would be. So the builders are going to be filling in the empty space with brick that won't match the existing at all and may look a little odd in the end. I'll keep you posted on that as it goes.
