If there is one thing I am enjoying about going for a walk every day, because of my high blood pressure problems, it is that I get to visit many places I haven't walked in a long time.
Years ago, in my city there were many urban artists, who spent a lot of time drawing on walls and abandoned places. Therefore, some time ago I dedicated myself to photograph this urban art to restore it in a digital way, because this type of art is no longer done and today it is simply deteriorating because it is exposed to the open air.

This time I tried to get to an upper area of my city, where I had not been for a while, you know, so that the walk would not be so boring and monotonous.
When I got to this area I found a whole wall with a series of graffiti. I imagine that these were done years ago, by a group of these artists who did their work next to each other.

Each of the ones you see in the photographs are on the same wall and at a glance you can see the deterioration they have suffered with the passage of time.
Almost all the graffiti in my city are like this. Before when one of these drawings was deteriorating, the same or another artist replaced it with a new one, but nowadays the paint is expensive and this type of culture is being lost, at least in my city, San Felipe, the capital of a small state in Venezuela....
It is evident that this place has not been visited by anyone for a long time, since the vegetation itself has grown so much that it has completely covered some areas where this same group of artists made their drawings some time ago.

And I know it's been a while because look at the following picture. The graffiti was already done so long ago, that they even placed a telephone booth in front of that wall. That booth, because of how deteriorated it is, it is evident that it has also been installed for a long time...
Well, for my part I just want to make a small restoration as a way of recognition to this interesting art that I once practiced. Now I don't do it, but at least in a digital way I want to restore one of the pieces that are on this wall so you can appreciate how it was when it was made by the artist.
This was the piece I chose to restore using Medibang Paint Pro:
The first thing I did was to make the main lines of the graffiti, the one that is light blue. The next thing was to fill the letters with a bluish black color.

Then I began to make the relief of the drawing, which serves to create that 3D effect that looks so good in this type of graffiti. Finally it was a brick-colored outline that has the original design made by the artist.

The original graffiti is obviously not mine, all these drawings were made by urban artists that I do not know and yet I seek this space to pay tribute to their work and remember somehow the work they did long ago and today is disappearing.

Si hay algo que me está gustando de salir a caminar todos los días, por mis problemas de presión arterial alta, es que suelo visitar muchos lugares por los que hace mucho no caminaba.
Hace años atrás, en mi ciudad habían muchos artistas urbanos, que pasaban mucho tiempo dibujando en paredes y lugares abandonados. Por ello, tiempo atrás me dediqué a fotografiar este arte urbano para restaurarlo de manera digiral, pues ya este tipo de arte no se hace y a día de hoy simplemente se está deteriorando por estar expuesto al aire libre.

En esta ocasión traté de llegar a una zona alta de mi ciudad, a donde no iba desde hace ya un tiempo, ya saben, para que la caminata no sea tan aburrida y monótona.
Cuando llegué a esta área me encontré con toda una pared con una serie de graffiti. Imagino que estos fueron hechos hace años atrás, por un grupo de estos artistas que hicieron sus trabajos uno junto a otro.

Cada uno de los que ven en las fotografías estan en la misma pared y a simple vista se evidencia el deterioro que han sufrido con el paso del tiempo.
Casi todos los graffiti de mi ciudad estan así. Antes cuando uno de estos dibujos se estaba deteriorando, el mismo u otro artista lo reemplazaba con uno nuevo, pero en estos tiempos la pintura está cara y ya este tipo de cultura se está perdiendo, por lo menos en mi ciudad, San Felipe, la capital de un pequeño estado de Venezuela.
Es evidente que este lugar no es visitado desde hace tiempo por nadie, ya que la propia vegetación ha crecido tanto que ha cubierto por completo algunas áreas en donde este mismo grupo de artistas hicieron sus dibujos tiempo atrás.
Vean, por ejemplo, estas dos fotografías en donde apenas se ven los dibujos, cubiertos por maleza.

Y sé que ha pasado tiempo porque miren la siguiente fotografía. Ya los graffiti estaban hecho desde hace tanto tiempo, que incluso colocaron una cabina telefónica frente a esa pared. Esa cabina, por lo deteriorada que está, es evidente que también tiene mucho tiempo instalada...
Bien, de mi parte solo quiero hacer una pequeña restauración a manera de reconocimiento a este arte tan interesante que yo tiempo atrás practiqué. Ahora no lo hago, pero al menos de manera digital deseo restaurarles una de las piezas que estan en esta pared para que puedan apreciar cómo era cuando fue hecho por el artista.
Esta fue la pieza que elegí para restaurar usando el programa Medibang Paint Pro:
Lo primero que hice fue hacer las líneas principales del graffiti, la que es de color azul claro. Lo siguiente fue rellenar las letras con un color negro azulado.

Posteriormente comencé a hacer el relieve del dibujo, que sirve para crear ese efecto 3D que tan bien se ven en este tipo de graffiti. Finalmente fue un contorno color ladrillo que tiene el diseño original que hizo el artista.

El graffiti original evidentemente no es mio, todos estos dibujos fueron hechos por artistas urbanos que no conozco y sin embargo busco este espacio para homenajear su trabajo y recordar de alguna manera el trabajo que hicieron tiempo atrás y hoy en día está desapareciendo.
Así lucía este arte en su momento, cuando estaba recién hecho:
