I only need to leave my apartment, walk to the nearby river beach ( which takes me less than 10 minutes ) and plop down in a plastic chair on the Summer terrace - a place overlooking the river as well as a restaurant on the other side of the riverbank, with a terrace that can be reached by walking over the top of the little man-made waterfall, to find inspiration.
In all honesty, I can / we can find (v)inspiration anywhere and everywhere: it's a matter of opening your eyes, ears and other senses, but it helps to be a hypersensitivosaurus 🦖
If I'm honest, creative block or writer's block does not really exist for me. I always have ideas, the more challenging part for me, is to pick one idea ( let alone to stick to one ) - to make choices.
I am a Libra. I 'weigh' things ( including myself on my bathroom scales ) agains each other but it basically needs to feel good and I am always looking for some kind of balance. Funny enough, my weight hardly changes, not more than a Kg or 2, from morning to evening.
So, yesterday afternoon, after sitting down on the aforementioned terrace, with a drink and a li'l bag of crisps, as well as a notebook and some coloring pencils, I started observing people.
I was entertained by a group of elderly British women, one of them trying to look a lot younger than the rest, talking about their stomachs and doing stomach exercises. They were like a female Laurel and Hardy, if Stan Laurel had been a yoga instructor and Oliver Hardy one of his students and were doing some serious 'stand up comedy'.
The situation was close to being slapstick, but I managed to just smile and not laugh out loud or ROFLMAO!*.
*Rolling Over the Floor Laughing My Art Out
Not surprisingly, they also drew the attention of some other people on a table nearby.
When these women were gone, all was quiet, once again and I returned to enjoying the nature and the weather.
not the best picture, but this was my view from the shadowy rock near the river, where I spent a couple of hours, yesterday afternoon. You can see part of my blue water shoe near the tiny ( distant ) parasol. The wooden gate at the right, was recently installed along ( part of ) one side of the riverbank
Back to earlier, yesterday morning...
Sometimes Often times, my mind just start mixing things, putting 1+1 together, leading to new ideas. Yesterday morning, this little story came to me, as I had been playing a couple of long distance chess games, including one against my good friend @inuke - who lives in India - while being distracted, for the umptieth time, by my neigbor's dog...
🐶
Bark! bark! bark!
Woof! woof! woof!
woof! woof!
bark! bark! bark! bark!
waf! woof!
etc.
Here's the ( fragment of a ) story that the above lead to:
It was yet another Sunday morning.
Mild Mannered Wolf and Hypersensitivosaurus were playing their weekly chess game in the raptor's cave.
When Hypersensitivosaurus took too much time for his next move, MM Wolf forgot about his manners and started barking loudly, at random intervals.
Bit by bit, Hypersensitivosaurus started to grow more annoyed.
His hanger was rising with the second...
His furry friend had, once again, wolfed down most of the freshly baked oatmeal-banana pancakes, leaving little for this not so little lizard. And, although he had licked the plates 'clean' afterward, this didn't really count as doing the dishes.
Let's say that Hypersensitivosaurus had a different cleanliness standard and that was an understatement.
The usually coldblooded raptor started to grow redder and redder, smoke was blowing out of his nose holes. He looked like a living volcano, about to erupt...
TO BE CONVINUED...
Yeah, I decided to end with a cliffhanger, for a change.
Not just to annoy you ( are you getting hangry yet? ) but also because I might stop sharing ( all of ) my full stories for free, as they could very well become part of a project; something that is slowly crystalizing in my mind, some kind of (multimedia) 'Hypersensitivosaurus box', filled with stories, ( character ) art and other things, in different forms, shapes and formats - all of it connected to the life of your favorite velociraptor and other animals.
Creative greetings and ❤️🦖 ( dino hug ),

Let me leave you with two more pictures of
the restaurant at the other side of the waterfall.
