Otra semana extraordinaria para la comunidad finaliza, como siempre, con nuestra revista acostumbrada. La verdad, estamos muy satisfechos con el paso de los autores hispanos. Cada período intentan entregar trabajos que han hecho muy difícil seleccionar quienes llegarán a conformar el salón de la fama semanal. Tenemos buenos trabajos que quedan afuera por el hecho de querer remarcar hitos nuevos para la comunidad o por algunos tener un componente novedoso.
Another extraordinary week for the community ends, as always, with our usual magazine. In truth, we are very pleased with the pace of the Hispanic authors. Each period they try to deliver works that have made it very difficult to select the ones that will become part of the weekly hall of fame. We have good works that are left out because we want to highlight new milestones for the community or because some of them have a novel component.
Las suscripciones bajaron un poco esta semana, agregando a la comunidad seis (6) nuevos usuarios para un total de 233. Muchos de ellos son lectores pasivos, más que autores activos: 33 al momento de escribir éstas líneas, de allí el alto compromiso que tenemos. Los ojos del mundo hispano están sobre los autores en una proporción de 8 lectores por cada autor dentro de la comunidad. Esto nos da otra perspectiva de la importancia de la comunidad en #HIVE.
Subscriptions dropped a bit this week, adding six (6) new users to the community for a total of 233. Many of them are passive readers, rather than active authors: 33 at the time of writing, hence the high engagement we have. The eyes of the Hispanic world are on the authors in a ratio of 8 readers for each author in the community. This gives us another perspective of the importance of the community in #HIVE.
También pone un listón alto de excelencia al cual nos debemos. Este tipo de entrega por hacer lo mejor, atrae nuevos autores que se aventuran en el feed de la comunidad ¿quién no querría aparecer entre los autores que se esfuerzan y dan prestigio? Por ello damos la bienvenida a: @jesusalejos y a @totoxhope; seguros estamos que se encontrarán a la altura del compromiso y por ello le damos la más cordial y deportiva enhorabuena por acceder a ser parte de la comunidad líder hispanohablante del deporte.
It also sets a high bar of excellence to which we owe ourselves. This kind of dedication to doing our best, attracts new authors to venture into the community feed, who wouldn't want to appear among the authors who strive and give prestige? That is why we welcome: @jesusalejos and @totoxhope; we are sure that they will be up to the commitment and therefore we give them the most cordial and sporting congratulations for agreeing to be part of the leading Spanish-speaking community of the sport.
Todo lo anterior nos lleva a la pregunta ¿Cómo ser parte del salón de la fama semanal? Algo que deben entender nuestros suscriptores es el sentido de trascendencia de lo compartido en el feed comunitario. Nada tiene que ver con las recompensas alcanzadas por la publicación. Nos llama la atención la esencia de la contribución ¿qué tan creativa es? ¿parece una publicación más de wikipedia? (sin menospreciar a ese sitio) ¿está lo suficientemente bien redactada? ¿es lo que nos encantaría leer en una revista, cuando la compramos?
All of the above brings us to the question: How to be part of the weekly hall of fame? Something our subscribers must understand is the sense of transcendence of what is shared in the community feed. It has nothing to do with the rewards achieved by the publication. We are struck by the essence of the contribution, how creative is it? does it look like another wikipedia publication? Is it well written enough? Is it what we would love to read in a magazine when we buy it?
El esfuerzo bien vale la pena, así no alcancemos las recompensas esperadas ¿por qué? Fácil ¿Cómo querría ser usted recordado como autor? ¿como uno más del montón? No lo creemos. Sabemos la juventud que permea sobre muchos autores del feed, pero aquellos que vivieron la época de las revistas deportivas saben a lo que nos referimos cuando con emoción, esperábamos el número siguiente del semanario deportivo local, para deleitarnos con los artículos de los grandes periodistas deportivos.
The effort is well worth it, even if we don't achieve the expected rewards, why? Easy. How would you want to be remembered as an author? As just another one of the bunch? We don't think so. We know the youth that permeates many authors of the feed, but those who lived through the era of sports magazines know what we mean when we excitedly awaited the next issue of the local sports weekly, to delight us with the articles of the great sports journalists.
Y este es el estatus que deseamos alcanzar en "Full Deportes" La comunidad hispanohablante de #HIVE espera eso de nosotros. Jamás nos podemos declarar fan de lo deportivo si no lo demostramos a través de nuestros escritos. Eso es lo que atrae público. Eso es lo que atrae más autores a nuestro feed. Muchos de los que escriben acá comprenden esto. No en balde nos vemos en dificultades para escoger los elegidos al salón. Pero también es buenos recordar para qué estamos acá.
And this is the status we want to achieve in "Full Deportes". The Spanish-speaking community of #HIVE expects that from us. We can never claim to be a sports fan if we don't show it through our writing. That's what attracts an audience. That's what attracts more authors to our feed. Many of the people who write here understand this. It's not for nothing that we have a hard time choosing the right people to be in the room. But it's also good to remember what we're here for.

And in that country the sport is lived with great passion. And we are honored to welcome them with affection. We have seen them contribute to other sports communities. Here you have your home.
