Cuando comencé por aquí en el año 2017, a los downvotes les llamábamos FLAGS. Dije que nunca los daría, porque me iba a enfocar en lo positivo. Con el tiempo maduré y entendí que solo es una herramienta. Antes la juzgaba, pensando que formaba parte de lo "negativo", después me di cuenta que no es ni positiva ni negativa, solo una herramienta necesaria, para mantener nuestra economía sana.
Gracias a una conversación con @zulfrontado aquí me animó a escribir este post.
La mayoría de los usuarios no están "educados" sobre los downvotes; para qué sirven, cuándo usarlos y a quién dárselos. Espero con este post contribuir para que los usuarios con menos conocimientos en el tema, los comprendan, ya que no es un tema que se hable mucho en español.
Qué es un donwvote
En Hive tenemos dos formas principales de interactuar económicamente con un post: Upvote y Donwvote, o voto positivo y voto negativo. El upvote otorga recompensas, mientras que el downvote las resta. Los dos funcionan solamente en el lapto de 7 días, después de publicar. Pasados estos siete días, ninguno surte efecto. Bueno, el upvote sí, pero las recompensas van a la piscina, no al autor.
Al igual que el voto positivo, el donwvote tiene relación con el HP.
#Para qué sirven.
Los downvotes son útiles para que las recompensas vayan a donde tienen que ir. Es una herramienta para cuidar el ecosistema del abuso (mayormente) de gente codiciosa y estafadora.
Es común ver usuarios que quieren aprovecharse del sistema de recompensas, para ganar dinero rápido, a costa el esfuerzo y la inversión de otros. El donwvote nos ayuda a que estas personas no obtengan las recompensas deseadas.
Cuándo usarlo.
El uso principal es contra el abuso. Aquí encontramos las estafas, usurpación de identidad, plagio, reciclaje de contenido, usa de IA en escritura, círculos de votos, etc.
También se usa para "ajustar recompensas". Cuando a alguien le parece que las recompensas son excesivas, realiza un downvote, bien sea para restarlas, o para que no sigan aumentando por tener suficientes. Si vas al trendig, podrás ver varios post con donwvotes de smooth por este motivo.
A quién dárselo.
La mayoría de la gente piensa que no está en capacidad de dar un downvote. Creen que por tener bajo HP, no deberían "meterse en problemas". Esto es falso. Un donwvote dado a tiempo puede frenar la monetización; es una alerta. Cualquier curador va a investigar bien, antes de votar a un post con donwvote.
Parte de nuestra responsabilidad como socios, es que todos velemos por el buen uso de la piscina de recompensas. Si ves casos de abuso, deberías dar un donwvote. Por supuesto, nadie quiere molestar a una cuenta más poderosa, por lo que, para estos casos lo mejor es denunciar el caso en: https://hivewatchers.io/ de esa manera, serán ellos los que tomen las acciones y tú no tendrás que temar, ya que nadie sabrá que los denunciaste. Adicional a esto, si tu denuncia procede, Hivewatchers te recompensa con una propina en HBD.
Mis donwvotes.
Hace unos meses tuvimos una invasión de SPAM. Fue importante la colaboración de todos. En casos como estos puedes "downvotear" con confianza y sin peligro 😁. Lo hice mucho durante semanas, hasta que eliminamos la amenaza. También hago downvote cuando veo un post de "ERROR NO VOTAR" y tiene recompensas. Por supuesto que un post así debe quedar en cero. Lo curiosos es que haya personas que se ofenden por un downvote cuando su post dice "NO VOTAR" y fue votado jajajaja; lo toman personal, me ha pasado.
Hay downvotes que sí son personales, pero ya es cuestión de ballenas, peleando entre ellas. Cuando pasa esto, salpica a los creadores. Puede ser que recibamos downvotes que no son dirigidos hacia nosotros, sino hacia quien votó el post, para restar recompensas de curación. Así que puede pasar que recibas votos de una ballena y otra te da un downvote para restar ese voto. Actualmente no he visto que esté pasando.
Mi sugerencia es que no des downvotes a cuentas más grandes que la tuya, para eso "llama a un amigo"😁. Usa el downvote en casos justos para cuidar a Hive.

What is a donwvote
In Hive we have two main ways to interact economically with a post: Upvote and Donwvote, or upvote and downvote. The upvote grants rewards, while the downvote subtracts them. Both only work within 7 days after posting. After these seven days, neither takes effect. Well, upvote does, but the rewards go to the pool, not to the author.
Like the upvote, the donwvote is related to the HP.
#What they are useful for.
Downvotes are useful to make rewards go where they need to go. It's a tool to take care of the ecosystem from abuse (mostly) from greedy and scammy people.
It is common to see users who want to take advantage of the reward system, to make quick money, at the expense of the effort and investment of others. The donwvote helps us to prevent these people from getting the desired rewards.
When to use it.
The main use is against abuse. Here we find scams, identity theft, plagiarism, content recycling, use of AI in writing, vote circles, etc.
It is also used for “reward adjustment”. When someone thinks that the rewards are excessive, they perform a downvote, either to subtract them, or so that they do not continue to increase because they have enough. If you go to the trendig, you will see several posts with smooth donwvotes for this reason.
Who to give it to.
Most people think that they are not able to give a downvote. They think that because they have low HP, they shouldn't “get in trouble”. This is false. A donwvote given in time can slow down monetization; it is a red flag. Any curator is going to investigate well, before voting a post with donwvote.
Part of our responsibility as partners, is that we all watch out for the good use of the bounty pool. If you see cases of abuse, you should give a donwvote. Of course, nobody wants to bother a more powerful account, so, for these cases the best thing to do is to report the case to: https://hivewatchers.io/ that way, they will be the ones to take action and you will not have to fear, since nobody will know that you reported them. My donwvotes.
A few months ago we had a SPAM invasion. It was important the collaboration of everyone. In cases like these you can “downvote” with confidence and without danger 😁. I did it a lot for weeks, until we eliminated the threat. I also downvote when I see an “ERROR NO VOTE” post and it has rewards. Of course a post like that should be zeroed out. The funny thing is that there are people who are offended by a downvote when their post says “NO VOTE” and it was voted hahahaha; they take it personal, it has happened to me.
There are downvotes that are personal, but it's already a matter of whales, fighting among themselves. When this happens, it splashes the creators. It can happen that we receive downvotes that are not directed to us, but to the one who voted the post, to subtract healing rewards. So it can happen that you receive votes from one whale and another gives you a downvote to subtract that vote. Currently I have not seen it happening.
My suggestion is that you don't downvote to accounts bigger than yours, for that “call a friend”😁. Use downvote in fair cases to take care of Hive.
