Hello, dear Hive friends!
El año pasado les enseñé el video de un concierto que tuve en la Sala Fedora Alemán con el grandioso Quinteto Cantabile interpretando La Lista de Schindler de John Williams. En esa ocasión también toqué Concerning Hobbits de Howard Shore, (ese video lo compartiré más adelante). Dicho concierto fue hace más de un año, pero hace unos meses nos reunimos para volver a ensayar el repertorio y grabarlo, y hoy compartiré con ustedes el resultado de esta última vez.
Last year I showed you a video of one concert that I had at Fedora Alemán Hall with the amazing Cantabile Quintet performing the Schindler's List by John Willias. That time I also played Concerning Hobbits by Howard Shore, (I will share that video soon). The mentioned concert was more than a year ago, but a few months ago we met to rehearse the repertoire and record it, and today I am sharing with you the result of this last time.
Como ya les he contado en muchos de mis posts, desde que comenzó la pandemia hemos ido a ensayar y a dar dos conciertos como mucho con nuestra orquesta, por lo tanto, extrañamos tocar en conjunto, así que los músicos del quinteto decidieron reunirse a ensayar otra vez este repertorio de música de películas, y en ese repertorio dos piezas llevan violín y volvieron a invitarme.
As I have told you in many posts, since the pandemic started we have barely gone to rehearse and give concert twice with our orchestra, so we miss playing together and for that reason the musicians from the quintet decided to meet and rehearse again that soundtrack movies repertoire, and that repertoire has two pieces which needs a violin, then they invited me again.
A estas secciones de pocos músicos tocando en conjunto se le llama música de cámara, y hacer música de cámara es algo super necesario para todos los músicos, porque es sumamente complejo; cada músico es prácticamente solista pero tampoco se puede tomar muchas libertades tocando porque los demás también lo son, y es aquí cuando se convierte en algo tan íntimo, porque todos deben escuchar muy bien a cada uno mientras tocan, cada nota es importante para complementar al otro, y es completamente diferente a tocar solo o con orquesta. De hecho, en las universidades y conservatorios de música existe una materia exclusiva de música de cámara, y por supuesto, es una materia obligatoria.
These sections with few musicians playing together are called chamber music, and making chamber music is something extremely hard; each musician is like a soloist, but they can not take many liberties playing either because the others are also soloists, and this is the part it becomes something so intimate, because all of them must listen to each other carefully while they are playing, every note is important to complement what the others play, and that is completely different from playing alone or with an orchestra. Actually in music universities or conservatories exists a subject of chamber music, and of course this is an obligatory subject.
Fue una semana diferente en medio de la cuarentena, personalmente siento que mejoré un poco mi interpretación a comparación de la vez anterior, y eso me hace feliz porque quiere decir que todo mi estudio de cuarentena ha estado dando frutos sin que yo pueda darme cuenta. It was a different week within the quarantine, I personally feel that I improved a little my performance compared to the previous one, and that makes me happy because it means that all my lockdown practice has been paying off without I even realize it.
