[ESP-ENG] Participé en un cortometraje increíble

Hello, dear Hive friends!

Hoy me gustaría compartir con ustedes un cortometraje maravilloso en el que participé hace un tiempo, y también hablarles un poco de mi experiencia, ya que no solo aparecí en el video sino que también grabé el audio. ¡Espero que les guste!

Today I would like to share with you a wonderful short film in which I took part some time ago, and also talk a little about my experience since I did not only have an appearance in the video but I also recorded the audio. I hope you like it!

Todo empezó porque un amigo de mi orquesta (oboísta) tiene unos compañeros de su iglesia que tienen una compañía llamada MixArts donde producen este tipo de contenido audiovisual y cuentan con un equipo súper talentoso, tanto de músicos como de camarógrafos, productores, etc. Para el cortometraje que estaban produciendo en esa ocasión necesitaban actores que fueran músicos de verdad para que grabaran el audio también, y no tenían violinista, que además, tenía que ser mujer (ya les cuento más adelante por qué). Así que Joseph, mi amigo oboísta me propuso participar, y por supuesto que acepté.

Everything began because a friend of my orchestra (oboist) has some friends from his church who have a company called MixArts where they produce this kind of audiovisual content and also have a very talented team of musicians, producers, etc. For the short film that they were producing that time they needed actors who also were real musicians in order to record the audio too, and they did not have a violinist, who had to be a woman (later you will know why). So Joseph, my oboist friend proposed me to participate, and of course I said yes.

El cortometraje trata sobre unos niños que quedan marcados con palabras y poco a poco a través de la música conocen la disciplina y se enfrentan a sus miedos transformando esas palabras en cosas positivas. Hay un niño que toca piano, uno que toca oboe, otro que toca viola, y una niña que toca violín, entonces la razón por la que en mi caso necesitaban a una mujer era porque nosotros representamos la versión "adulta" de esos niños cuando alcanzan el éxito al crecer.

The short film is about some kids who were influenced by words and little by little through music they know discipline and face their fears transforming those words into positive things. There is a boy who plays the piano, a boy who plays the oboe, another one the viola and a girl who plays the violin, so that is the reason why in my case they needed a woman, because we represented the "adult" version of those kids when they reached the success growing up.

La banda sonora del cortometraje la compuso el pianista, Sam Hernández, quien ha ganado premios anteriormente por sus increíbles composiciones, y mis compañeros Josué Muñoz de viola y Joseph González de oboe también son músicos excepcionales. La prueba de todo esto cuando escuchen la maravillosa banda sonora y la impecable interpretación de mis compañeros.

The soundtrack of the short film was composed by the pianist, Sam Hernández, who has won awards previously for his incredible compositions, and my colleagues Josué Muñoz, viola, and Joseph González, oboe, are also exceptional musicians. The proof of all of this when you listen to the amazing soundtrack and the flawless performance of my colleagues.

Para mí fue una experiencia diferente, porque a pesar de que ya había hecho grabaciones de audio nunca había tenido un papel "importante" dentro de una producción audiovisual, así que vivir por primera vez la experiencia de los cambios de vestuario, maquillaje y estilismo fue interesante, a pesar de que al final solo decidieron usar una toma, ese día grabamos muchas más.

For me it was a different experience, because even though I had made audio recordings before I had never had an "important" role in an audiovisual production, so living for the first time the experience of costume changes, make up, and styling was interesting despite they decided to use only one shot, that day we filmed many more.

Llegamos al set a las 9 am y nos fuimos a eso de las 11 pm. Grabar el audio fue un reto porque grabamos cada uno por separado, y estábamos grabando algo que nunca habíamos tocado, pues lo estrenamos nosotros y nos dieron las partituras esa misma mañana. Además, hacer las tomas con las cámaras me dejó exhausta, cuando llegué a mi casa en la noche tenía mucho dolor de cabeza porque estar al frente de las luces del set, que son muy fuertes, apuntando directamente a tu cara durante varias horas no es fácil.

We arrived at the set at 9 am and we left around 11 pm. Recording the audio was a challenge since we recorded each one separately and we were recording something we had never played before because we were realising the theme and we got the sheet music that same morning. Furthermore, making the shots with the camera left me exhausted, when I arrived at home during the night I had a bad headache because being in front of the lights of the set, which are too high, pointing straight to my face for some hours is not easy.

De todos modos fue inolvidable, la pasé muy bien, tanto nosotros como todo el equipo involucrado dimos lo mejor y eso se nota en el resultado final, pues el cortometraje me encantó. A continuación lo comparto con ustedes, deja una enseñanza muy bonita, aparte de que se ve muy profesional.

It was unforgettable anyway, I spent a good time, both of us, the musicians and the involved team did our best and it is shown in the final result, I really loved the short film. I share it with you below, it teaches a beautiful life lesson, further it looks so professional.
