Yesterday, I talked about offer overload, offering too many different products in too short of a time. Today let's talk about too much, too fast again but in a different context.
7-Second Expectations
I have talked about this from a slightly different view in my post You Won't Get Rich In 30 Days or Less. This time let's look at your expectations.
I don't know about you but I know I have found products that I am certain everybody needs, wants, and can't live without. I immediately purchase the product, learn how to use it, and start marketing it.
My expectation is that within 24 hours I will make sales. Several times that day I will check and see how many I have sold. The majority of times do you know how many sales I have had in that short period of time. ZERO. (I have had 2 recent exceptions to that. More later.)
Why do you think that was the result? What did I do wrong?
Just because I thought people could not live without the product doesn't mean anyone did. I did absolutely no research looking into what people wanted.
I used the vendor-supplied splash and sales pages just like anyone else could use. I did absolutely nothing to be unique.
I had done nothing to make people KNOW, LIKE, and TRUST me. I threw a product out there and crossed my fingers. If anything, I hurt my brand.
After a week, sometimes 2, I was off to the next must-have product. No patience.
Basically, I did what so many want-to-be affiliate marketers do. I thought I could do minimum work and make money quickly.
I have learned that blitz marketing like that just does not work and in the long run, does more harm than good.
The 2 Exceptions
In the last few months, I have had 2 exceptions to what I just told you. I found 2 products that I felt I had to start advertising as fast as I could. I was sure the products would be advertised by the big affiliate marketers and I wanted to take advantage of that.
The first product was Click Engine. Jeff Aman developed this product. You provide your link and it is added to Jeff's rotator shown to real buyers. I had almost $50 in sales in less than 2 days. My sales have grown to well over $100 and I have a monthly residual income of over $25. These were fantastic results for me.
The second product was Leads Leap Profits. You have heard me praise LeadsLeap many times. Leads Leap Profits is an enhancement to LeadsLeap. I have been using LeadsLeap for years and I learned some things from the videos. This is not only a money maker but more importantly, grows your list. I added 13 people to my list in 1 day. That is my record.
