This is my entry for @bliss11's contest. As I take plenty of pictures and also play with Gimp/Photoscape a lot, this is a must-enter for me. For me, my goal is one more image to use in Redbubble, TeePublic and DeviantArt.
This result was found at Lunapic using first the "candy" filter, then the "flame" filter.
This was my favorite result when playing with this image:
This is a picture I took at Chalice Well in Glastonbury, England some years ago... It was one of those "lucky to be in the right place at the right time" pictures that's one of my archive favorites. Yes, it could use a tad more depth-of-field, but I was really just beginning my journey of digital photography and was stunned at the amazing, but intimate picture that resulted.
I used this for a contest entry on Uptrennd just yesterday, so thought, why not hit it with some filters!
Here we go...
Photoscape
This used the color pencil and watercolor pencil filters and even a hit of the film processor (cross processed). I think it looks pretty cool... er... hot.
Night Cafe
I'm falling out of love with this online filter. He still doesn't make any decent-sized images available to download and now has this "credit" system for generating pictures. Surely, if he's going to be selling products with the image on it, you should get this much for free, right?
Deep Dream
I usually like some of the Deep Dream interpretations, but this time, I wasn't impressed with how it handled the area above the candle, so I stopped after three tries and only saved the first two. This second one, however, I may play with a little more and put it in my shops.
Lunapic
This one is rapidly becoming my favorite. It would be cool if it had some generator like Deep Dream as well, but I still love the effects when they stack... I kept the original colors on all these.
I liked best, the images where it kept definition, yet was still bright. I did try some darker filters, like adding "smoke" to the equation. I liked them, but it lost the "heat" of the picture. The one below was my favorite of those, but it just wasn't good enough for my entry.
The following "graffiti" image was my second favorite today. I like the abstract quality of it. When I tried adding the "smoke" to it, it was far too dark. The only reason I'm not featuring this one as my entry is the way I lost heat in the flame.
Which is your favorite?
