A New Season of Reviews - A Challenge accepted!
The nefarious trio of World Eaters, Death Guard and Thousand Sons are set to get their new Codexes next. Actually, the great FOUR are each getting their favourite Legion's new Codexes but Emperor's Children did not have an actual Index before.
Anyway. I was speaking to my friend @nicolaasmuller about how my Review posts might not make a lot of money for me, but that cumulatively and on average some of them do good and overall there is an average that at least means that there is good movement of income into the Hobby Fund and that it would grow from there.
We were throwing around some numbers and looking at the average of my last 10 Review Posts, 20 Review posts and 30 Review Posts and we could come up with a range of how much I should theoretically be making across a large sample size of completing the remainder of the reviews for the nefarious trio mentioned above.
So Nicolaas says to me something along the lines of: That would be pretty cool if you could do it in like, a month. Maybe do like 2 a day.
Alteration So @nicolaasmuller and I worked out that firstly - due to family obligations, I had missed out on some days not being able to blog at all and having no laptop with me and more on the way... and the fact that he had said 2x posts a day from the start would have made it a 40 day challenge. I shall adjust that number below going forward...
So I explained it would be a little bit more than that but sure... it would be cool... is that a challenge? And yeah... here I am... Challenge accepted. 😎
It is now Day 34 of the Challenge.
Totals so far: 63/70 Datasheets done, 3/3 Army Rules done, 1/6 Detachment Rules done. Total 67/79.

Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $295 to pay off!

Back to the review.
The whole project has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!

Death Guard, Plagueburst Crawler

So this unit is why Death Guard does not have a Vindicator in a sense. Having the ability to field both would probably lead to people fielding some sort of over-board cheese fielding 3 of each which would be a nightmare to face! Haha!
Instead, the Deathguard get something that plays very different!

Standard Wargear: Plagueburst Mortar, 2x Entropy Cannons, Heavy Slugger, Armoured tracks.
This model can exchange it's Heavy Slugger for a Rothail Volley Gun.
This model can replace its 2x Entropy Cannons with 2x Plaguespitters.
Ranged Weapons
Plagueburst Mortar
48" Range, D6+3 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S8, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.
Blast (Get +1 Attack per 5 models in the target unit, rounding down.)
Lethal Hits (Rolls of a 6 to Hit causes an Automictic Wound)
Indirect Fire (Attacks made by this weapon can target units not visible to this model. If it does so, it suffers a -1 To Hit.)
Entropy Cannon
24" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S10, AP-3 and D6+1 Damage each.
Lethal Hits (Rolls of a 6 to Hit causes an Automictic Wound)
Plaguespitter
12" Range, D6 Shot, Hitting on Auto, S6, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Torrent (This weapon automatically hits. Merely roll for number of shots.)
Ignores Cover (The target unit cannot get Benefit of Cover against this attack)
Anti-Infantry 2+ (This model scores Critical Wounds against Infantry Models on a roll of 2+ on the Wound roll)
Heavy Slugger
36" Range, 4 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S5, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Rothail Volleygun
24" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S5, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Lethal Hits (Rolls of a 6 to Hit causes an Automictic Wound)
Rapid Fire 3 (When firing on a target within its half range of 12", add 3 attacks)
Melee Weapons
Armoured Tracks
3 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S6, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Deadly Demise D3 - When this model is destroyed, roll a dice. On a 1, this model explodes, dealing D3 Mortal Wounds to each unit within 6" of it.
Spore-Laced Shock Waves
In your Shooting Phase after this model has shot, select an Infantry unit that was hit by this model's Plagueburst Mortar. That unit must take a Battleshock test.
Thoughts
One might bemoan the fact that S8 Mortar and S10 Entropy Cannons are hardly powerful... one would again be making the mistake of underestimating the Deathguard Army rule and the ingenuity of the players.
That S10 Cannon becomes a real problem for T10 Tanks once a Bloat Drone or Myphitic Blight-Hauler quickly comes into range with its Contagion. Then you drop a point of Toughness and all of a sudden, the S10 Entropy Cannons become Lascannons to you!
That makes 28 Death Guard Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 87.5% Completed. The total Completed is 34.60% Complete! Can I review them all?!
