All good things must come to an end, and i must admit that i am a bit sad to reach the end of this Season 9 based on Spirituality. The quality and quantity of your responses to every question has been so amazing really, it makes me happy to see SO many of you are interested in this topic and are so keen to post and share on every question that has been asked. Also i would like to mention that despite us all coming from so many different places, cultures and religions, we have managed to get through this entire season without any tension or conflicts.. That is really amazing as I'm sure you are aware these very deep topics can lead to problems when our thoughts and beliefs conflict.. BUT you guys all showed us what you are made of and how compassionate and tolerant you all are to other beliefs. My hat is off to you all!
SO! This week i think close to 100 of you posted your answers to the QOTW. Thank you to all of you who posted, it was a great curation challenge and i am thankful that i did not have to choose any winners! That would have been an impossible task as there is no right or wrong answer, and in many cases a long post does not always mean a better post. Instead of choosing winners i have decided to share a handful of posts that i think were special in their own way. If you would like to read the entire post then just click the 'read more/ link at the end of each snippet. If you would like to check out the entire feed of all answers on this #qotw then just click the tag or the following link

Spirituality has always been a very important part of every human being that is essential to cultivate. Some people dedicate much more attention to their spiritual life than others, but at the end of the day we all need to have a good connection with God.
Just as there are people who pay more attention to taking care of their body and maintain healthy eating habits, go to the gym and exercise rigorously, there are also people who dedicate themselves to cultivating and developing their spiritual life. Just as these people may or may not need the help of a personal trainer, some people may or may not need the guidance of a spiritual guide, guru or teacher.
The truth is that nowadays we see with greater boom, the fashionable profession "Being a coach", anyone who feels with some practice and knowledge of a particular subject that has given positive results in his life, feels with enough merits to guide others on their way to success and personal, financial, professional, social, emotional, among others.

I firmly believe in the Asian proverb that says, "When the student is ready, the teacher appears" because the Universe is energy and it moves with the energy of everything and everyone.
The spirit of life moves the spirit of everything on the planet and that movement marks the passage of what was, is, and will be without us being exclusive protagonists acting in a theater where the script is created by God with the participation of all beings, of the created and the uncreated, because, quite simply, the planet is not static and everything responds to cycles.
So, when @eco-alex asks us if we believe in the intervention of gurus to initiate or expand spiritual growth, I would answer, after pondering for a while, yes and no.
Why? Because I feel that they are important propagators of knowledge about the spiritual world, based on the fact that we are spirits in incarnational experience with different degrees of evolution.
However, I also believe that the need for them is relative because if we trust in the power of the Divine, we will understand that if we ask, it will be given to us, without making much effort, it will simply be given to us according to the knowledge that God has of us.
@miriannalis
Although I could not participate in the other questions, I wanted to join this season finale because it is a reflection that speaks a lot about my personal process in this path of spirituality.
At first my answer could be a resounding "NO" and affirm that the path of spirituality is a path of self-knowledge that you can and must travel alone to reach that nexus of connection with the whole.
However, this would not be consistent with my experience so I dare to change that resounding no for a "Yes, but No" even if it seems like an answer of Mario Moreno, in his role of "Cantinflas".
When I had my first concern to approach more existential reflections about God, the purpose of life, spirituality and so many other questions, I approached the church to get the answers, there I began my path of volunteering and learned many things, such as theology to be more connected with my vocation of service, but at the time my desire to know more and expand my horizon led me to many other currents.
In some of them my transit was very short-lived, in others I spent a little more time, but the truth is that in all of them I met many teachers and gurus and from all of them I learned a lot, even from the "bad" teachers I learned what not to do or better said, how to do it better.

From a young age, our attention is drawn more and more away from ourselves, from what lies within. We are told that we need to look to others to show us the way, to be inspired and yes at times this can be true. Because we are all so wonderfully diverse, some folk at better at certain things that others. So it makes sense to look to them for advice or guidance.
But our attention, has been directed outwards far too much, so that eventually we lose the ability to connect with our own wisdom, the wisdom that lies within.
The wisdom that can guide us, to where we need to go, towards what we need to achieve. Otherwise we just following the words of others, the path that has already been laid. We are here, to create ourselves and in doing that, we create a new way.
But if we follow the words of another, we may very well benefit from their guidance, but to truly thrive, we need to connect with our inner power and light our own way!
I believe that this is when true spiritual growth occurs, when we dance to the beat of our own drum, when we move to our own rhythm, which is so wonderfully unique to each one of us.
@doriscova8
Spirituality, I believe, is a profound concept that can reach areas beyond the philosophical, psychological and religious and that can help us to understand the human condition and in many cases the meaning of life itself.
Undoubtedly all human beings must have spirituality at birth, which is what differentiates us from other living beings, because it is precisely this spirituality that helps us to accept the immaterial nature of oneself.
Like any aspect of the personality, there must exist in the individual some element that shows that spirituality or the rejection of it. Likewise, I consider that the degree of spirituality that we possess is a way of how we contextualize our behavior in life.
That is why when we look around us in a disinterested way and only acting according to our values, helping us to understand the world in the very essence of things; without the possibility of any benefit or advantage of the material or immaterial things that we can contemplate in the world. In this sense, that is why some people are called dreamers or romantics because of the spirituality they manifest in life situations.
@acont
Do we need another person in order to grow spiritually? It's not an easy question, but I would say the answer is: YES and NO.
I think you don't need anyone in order to reach higher levels of consciousness. We all have a 'potential' that we can reach, regardless of externals. But without a 'guru', in the process we may get it wrong many times, and maybe the learning will be slower or more painful.
I think we all learn the same thing in some way. Whether you learn it from a church, from a 'guru', or you learn it through life experience, we all in some way or another learn to be humble, patient, responsible, etc. It is no coincidence that older people tend to be wiser, regardless of whether they followed a 'guru' or not during their lifetime.
But the 'guru', regardless of whether it is a Christian priest, a Buddhist teacher, or any kind of belief, has its function. They are people with a degree of wisdom a little higher than the rest of the people, and with so much knowledge in their minds, what could they do? Well, share it with others.
Many people need some 'guidance' to find themselves. But I think that this need for 'something more' must be handled with care so as not to become fanaticism. I think the task of the 'guru' is not to make you grow spiritually, but to give you the tools to do it yourself.
Everything you need to grow spiritually and as a person is within you. The 'guru' is only trying to make the process easier for you. I believe that when you look for or follow a guru, perhaps it is because you are looking for something that is already in you, but now you are ready to 'awaken' it.
@irvinc
This week the friends of the @ecotrain community leave us the last question of the season dedicated to spirituality: Do we need a Guru or Master for our spiritual growth? Like all the previous questions this one opens a good space for our reflections. I share mine.
I believe that all beings come into the world endowed with spirituality, which can manifest itself in many ways throughout life. And it can also be the case that we learn to repress it.
The presence of the spiritual can be easily appreciated in children; there are some who from an early age show a special sensitivity to the world around them, they seem to have the gift of communicating with all beings. They touch the stones, the plants, the animals and with all of them they feel amazed, without being tempted to hit them or harm them.
And there are those who respond in another way, they do not feel the same motivation and amazement before things and feel the desire to break and mistreat.
In both cases spirituality is present. But it occurs to me to think that in the first ones it is more probable that the spiritual awakening arrives without the mediation of any Master. While the second ones probably need more than one guide to be able to connect with their spiritual world.
@mariela53
Very interesting question. Gurus are people who are spiritually prepared and have extensive knowledge on some subject. These people are respected for the virtues they possess. People who are dedicated to this practice are Guru or spiritual master. With a great trajectory of knowledge at a spiritual level. "He is the one who puts the light in the darkness."
There are countries like India where the religion is Hinduism and that religion has spiritual masters or Gurus who are responsible for teaching those belonging to the religion the sacred scriptures and mantras.
Just as in the Catholic and Evangelical religion there are Guru's who are in charge of imparting knowledge about the sacred scriptures. These people have extensive knowledge on these subjects. The Guru lives the teachings according to it. He must have a number of characteristics such as: disciplined, courteous, kind, endowed with much knowledge, open minded, willing to teach.
@nathyortiz
Welcome to my blog Hive friends, especially to this dear community that asks us a very important question from time to time, also puts us to analyze from a different perspective looking for the balance between 2 worlds. In this opportunity he asks us if do we need a guru or master to grow spiritually?, which is a very important topic for our days since nowadays there are many beliefs that affirm that there are masters that we must follow so that they can help us spiritually, so is it true that we need it??.
So speaking from a more conceptual perspective we go to the definition of what is for me a guru, this is not a person who has light on his own, who thinks he has an inner wisdom that can spread to others and help them to progress, it is also said that he is the one who practices rituals to face the spiritual life in a better way, It is like a guide who teaches us the way to follow to be better people in terms of the spiritual, likewise also happens with the teachers which is a role model for all, in which we see represented many doctrines, concepts and deep bases to face the future.
@truelovemom
We human beings learn from each other, by imitation. We are social beings, we are becoming more human by having more contact with the other individuals of our species. On the other hand, our longing for a better humanity drives us to follow those whom we value, who can be both the strongest and the most intelligent or those who are more capable of developing better interpersonal relationships, the latter, in general, they are pleasant people, whose treatment is beneficial for everyone who comes into contact with them. The more powerful the influence of the work or achievements of a human being, the more powerful is his authority to influence the behavior of other people; so that they imitate him in some way.
Cultural values play a very important role in this; because, although there are universal human values, each culture sculpts them according to its peculiarities. Finally, with the passing of the years, the decades and, many times, the centuries; some transcend for a long time and their influence and their ability to serve as a role model is projected, even, through millennia.
@orlev
So, the question is, is one, or both necessary? I have struggled with this question since I was a little boy. Being raised religious, I was always taught that any serious questions I had, should be directed at my spiritual leaders and religious authorities, the Rabbis. This led me to a feeling of disillusionment, at the Rabbis' inability to answer my questions to my satisfaction. They required more faith than understanding, and in today's modern era, my psyche simply wasn't content. And so, my search for answers from a Guru, a teacher, or otherwise, continued. While searching I came across one of my most important teachers, Alan watts. Though he passed 14 years before I was born, he guided me throughout my spiritual journey. (I even have a tattoo
Human beings are in constant evolution, growth and learning since we are born, only the physical body, the biological evolves up to a certain point to begin its decline from the zenith. Contrary to our social and psychological learning that does not stop, in a progressive way thanks to the experience of what we have lived and what we observe from other people through modeling, we incorporate knowledge, attitudes, values? Of course this includes the spiritual, I believe that in our life there will always be guides, teachers, at home the first ones are our biological parents or any other figure that assumes this role, over time others are incorporated and then appear some that although they no longer exist physically either because they lived in other times or are in other latitudes, their teachings transcend time, distances and become part of strengthening the spiritual essence of the human being who follows them.
@vicmito74
From the moment we have been conceived, life becomes interesting, more than anything for our parents, once we are born, we start the race of survival, because life is a lottery, a constant coming and going, an up and down. short; as we advance in age, we experience experiences that nourish our souls, but we also go through moments that leave us with bitter marks, childhood is the best stage for any person if we live it correctly; but it is frustrating and sad when this does not happen; I personally believe that not only those who are born in a functional home can have a happy childhood, I have seen dysfunctional families where peace, harmony and love surpass all experiences. The spiritual part during our growth is very important, sometimes we grow up in homes where religious education is part of living, we learn that there is a God and that we depend on him to survive. The interesting thing about all this is that as we get older, we realize so many things that, in reality, the spiritual growth of each one of us does not depend on religious formation or on any religion that is proclaimed; that we do not need someone in particular to achieve spiritual growth, because not everything depends on someone else, everything will depend on ourselves, on the determination that we have as beings to want to achieve that total peace that we long for so much to feel full and happy. Sometimes a simple book, an image, an experience, can also give us that little push to go in search of personal balance.
