First of all, let me start by introducing my in-game name: ak08, and I'm excited to share my journey in the world of Splinterlands as I commemorate my two-year anniversary in the game. It's been an incredible ride filled with epic battles, strategic moves, and a growing passion for the game that keeps me coming back for more! 😁
Discovering Splinterlands During a Pandemic
I first stumbled upon Splinterlands during the pandemic when most of us were confined to our homes, looking for exciting online activities to keep us entertained. It was during one of those endless YouTube binges that I discovered a video review by @bulldog1205, and my interest was piqued. The concept of "Play2Earn" sounded like a dream come true – the idea that I could enjoy a game and earn something in return was quite intriguing. It always felt like a realm reserved for professional gamers, but Splinterlands, or web3 game in general, was changing that narrative! 😍
What truly drew me in was the fact that Splinterlands was essentially a Trading Card Game, reminiscent of my younger days when I was a fervent fan of the Pokemon Trading Card Game. The nostalgia hit me hard, and I knew I had to give it a try! 😉
Earnings in Splinterlands: Beyond the Numbers
Now, let's talk about earnings. I must admit that the numbers I've earned through the game may seem modest compared to the time I've invested. However, for me, Splinterlands is not just about the earnings; it's about the experience and the thrill of the game. While I could potentially earn more by making heavier investments, I have other commitments that prevent me from going all-in. Remarkably, I'm proud to say that I've spent less than $50 and have organically grown my account through in-game earnings. This results in an impressive 11x Return on Investment (ROI) when considering the combined value of the current SPS and Card Prices in the account. I consider this to be a rather favorable ROI percentage! 😅
The screenshot I've shared above represents the current market value of my account, a market currently facing a bearish trend. But as we all know, the crypto world is known for its ups and downs, and with the hope of a bull run, these numbers could become a lot more enticing!
I did a quick math using my reliable Excel sheet to illustrate the SPS value based on the current market price compared to its value on October 15, 2021! It's only natural to hope for another bull run to elevate us to such heights again, isn't it? 😂
Unlocking New Heights with the Scholarship Program
However, to compete at the highest level within Splinterlands, it's important to invest a bit more which I was unable to do so. This is where I stumbled upon a scholarship program offered by Balthazar. The scholarship program aims to give players a competitive edge by providing them with an accounts containing Max Chaos Legion Monster Cards.
For those who have been following my post, I am managing the scholarship account with in-game name: bltzr-wizard-729. Thanks to the scholarship program, I am able to compete at the highest level in the Champions League, earning more rewards than I could with my personal account, which remains in the Gold League. I use these earnings to supplement my personal account's growth and hoping to eventually build an arsenal strong enough to compete at the highest level! 💪
