A Peek Into Gen Z Music
Back again with my three tunes Tuesday. I know, it’s not Tuesday anymore and I am definitely breaking my consistency. I’ve been busy but here I am again with some suggestions that you may like and probably haven’t heard of.
While I was drafting EDM flip, I suddenly thought that Post Malone was actually a great recommendation today. It’s safe to say that older Gen Z and Gen Z in general grew up with Post Malone. Just like this article said, they (Gen Z )also loved Post Malone. His first debut that received success was a song called “ White iverson '' which was released back in 2015 on soundcloud. After that song's release, I remember people were copying post Malone's dancing style and creating comedy skit satire based on his style too. Soon after, there were more rap styles that people call “mumble” rap and the rise of soundcloud artists.
If you notice from Post Malone old videos, you will see that he didn’t have as many face tattoos as today. I also love to listen to his songs on my way to uni back in the day and just everywhere I go. Over time his style and overall personality changes too. He used to be in MV with a rather gloomy vibe but he has a few happier songs that are fun to listen too. Anyway, I find it really difficult to just choose 3 from Post Malone because I like all of them but here
Pyscho ft Ty Dolla $ign
Understanding the lyrics would be different task but really, it’s the beat for me that made this on my #1 recommendation. Compared to other songs of Post Malone, I really like this one beat the most than white iverson and even go flex. So, just enjoy this one for the beat instead trying to understand the lyrics ;D
Better Now
This one is like a post breakup anthem. There’s one part that I like and I like that on repeat. This is one of Post Malone’s song that’s pretty meaningful to me personally. It’s a bit sad but still fun to listen to.

I Like You Ft Doja Cat
I honestly never expected Post Malone would duet with Doja but it happened! This song is so fun to listen to, the MV has a lot of positive vibes to it. Overall, it’s a cheerful song to listen to and it only released about 2 months ago with over 45M views on youtube. Maybe next year it’ll stay for the summer?
I am thinking of writing a whole set of Gen Z culture stuff from music, lifestyle, to trends in a separate post. I just think that we get a bad reputation sometimes and I want to enlighten some parts of Gen Z that are fun too. And stay tuned for my EDM flip recommendation that I am still drafting next week!
