Feliz Año Nuevo 2023, espero que para todos y cada uno de ustedes, este año les traiga prosperidad y salud. Hoy, martes 10 de enero 2023, regreso a participar en la mejor iniciativa musical de todo Hive: Three Tune Tuesday, una actividad que nació gracias a @ablaze, con la intención de que compartamos tres de nuestras canciones más queridas o significativas. Y hoy, no les he traído un acetato, de hecho sí tenía un post adelantado, pero a última hora cambié de opinión y decidí traerles este, mi primer disco compacto en esta iniciativa.
Happy New Year 2023, I hope that for each and every one of you, this year brings you prosperity and health. Today, Tuesday, January 10, 2023, I return to participate in the best musical initiative in all of Hive: Three Tune Tuesday, an activity that was born thanks to @ablaze, with the intention that we share three of our songs most loved or significant. And today, I did'nt bring you an acetate, in fact I did have an early post, but at the last minute I changed my mind and decided to bring you this, my first compact disc in this initiative.
Para hoy invité a una de la mejores bandas españolas que fusionaban Pop, Jazz, Blues, Funk, Electrónica, Folk, etc. de los 80’s y 90’s y son “Presuntos Implicados”, quienes fueron autores de canciones de gran belleza musical y de letras muy bonitas, y también versionaron algunos clásicos de la música romántica en Español y en Inglés. Esta banda tenía un estilo más maduro al que yo acostumbraba a oír, sin embargo me cautivó la calidad intepretativa y las bellas canciones; y ojo, no era música de la que yo oía o bailaba en las minitecas o discotecas, a ellos los oía en mi hogar, y a veces en las emisoras radiales, pero siempre con gran emoción y sentimiento.
For today I invited one of the best Spanish bands that fused Pop, Jazz, Blues, Funk, Electronic, Folk, etc. from the 80's and 90's and are “Presuntos Implicados”, who were the authors of songs of great musical beauty and very beautiful lyrics, and they also covered some classics of romantic music in Spanish and English. This band had a more mature style than what I used to hear, however I was captivated by the interpretive quality and the beautiful songs; And beware, it wasn't music that I heard or danced to in minitheques or discos, I heard them at home, and sometimes on radio stations, but always with great emotion and feeling.
Presuntos Implicados tuvo una formación constante, desde que iniciaron en 1985 hasta el 2008, cuando su vocalista principal, Soledad Giménez dejó la agrupación; luego de esto perdí el interés en esa banda, ya que fue como si diluyeran su esencia, sin embargo en su segunda etapa la vocalista que le sustituyó hizo un buen trabajo. Pueden documentarse al respecto en muchas páginas disponibles en la web, incluso comparto un enlace al final de este post, al cual pueden ir para leer más acerca de este grupo.
Presuntos Implicados had a constant formation, since they began in 1985 until 2008, when their main vocalist, Soledad Giménez left the group; after this I lost interest in that band, since it was as if they diluted their essence, however in their second stage the vocalist who replaced them did a good job. They can be documented about it in many pages available on the web, I even share a link at the end of this post, where you can go to read more about this group.
Este disco que traigo hoy, es el CD 1 de un compilatorio de las mejores canciones de Presuntos Implicados, el cual salió a la venta en el año 2003, siendo entonces el décimo álbum de la banda. Yo tengo este CD porque fue un regalo de alguien a quien quiero mucho. Si observamos bien, es una producción de gran calidad. Tiene un encartado, en donde hay una reseña de la banda, también está el cancionero (del cual extraje las canciones, las cuales traduje usando el traductor en línea de Google). Igualmente podemos ver algunas fotos de la banda con su formación original; los datos técnicos del disco, como el sitio de grabación, y un hermoso agradecimiento por parte de la banda, a todos los músicos que colaboraron en este disco, como son Ana Torroja, Armando Manzanero, Randy Crawford, entre otros. Incluso, agradecen a Steve Wonder, quien tuvo la disposición de colaborar, pero sus compromisos contractuales se lo impidieron.
This album that I bring today is CD 1 of a compilation of the best songs by Presumptos Implicados, which went on sale in 2003, being then the tenth album of the band. I have this CD because it was a gift from someone I love very much. If we look closely, it is a high-quality production. It has an insert, where there is a review of the band, there is also the songbook (from which I extracted the songs, which I translated using Google's online translator). We can also see some photos of the band with its original formation; the technical data of the album, such as the recording site, and a beautiful thank you from the band, to all the musicians who collaborated on this album, such as Ana Torroja, Armando Manzanero, Randy Crawford, among others. They even thank Steve Wonder, who was willing to collaborate, but his contractual commitments prevented him.
Siempre hacemos un ejercicio de arqueología moderna viendo los precios de mis acetatos, pero en esta oportunidad no hay posibilidad de hacerlo, porque siendo un regalo, la persona que me lo obsequió retiró la etiqueta del precio. Además de eso, este disco se fabricó fuera de Venezuela, por lo que tiene impreso el precio de venta al público. Lo que sí tiene es por el revés del CD, la lista de las 19 hermosas canciones que componen esta primera parte de este doble compilatorio.
We always do an exercise in modern archeology looking at the prices of my acetates, but this time there is no possibility of doing it, because being a gift, the person who gave it to me removed the price tag. In addition to that, this disc was manufactured outside of Venezuela, so it has the retail price printed on it. What it does have is on the back of the CD, the list of the 19 beautiful songs that make up this first part of this double compilation

La primera canción que les he traído corresponde a una de las primeras melodías que oí de este grupo, esto fue a mediado de los 90, quizás en el 95, cuando estaba experimentando una ruptura amorosa muy fuerte, y fue la ruptura más larga que experimenté en mi vida, con una “recaída” con mi novio de ese entonces; y esta canción, la cual se titula Cómo hemos cambiado, me hacía reflexionar profundamente en esa situación tan difícil. Ya verán por qué les digo esto, sólo lean parte de la letra (al final del post les comparto en elance al cancionero del grupo), y oigan esta bonita canción, que es una de las más pop de esta banda.
The first song that I have brought you corresponds to one of the first melodies that I heard from this group, this was in the mid-90s, maybe in 95, when I was experiencing a very strong love breakup, and it was the longest breakup I experienced in my life, with a “relapse” with my boyfriend at the time; and this song, which is titled How we have changed, made me reflect deeply on that very difficult situation. You will see why I tell you this, Just read part of the lyrics (at the end of the post I share the group's songbook in the link), and listen to this beautiful song, which is one of the most pop songs by this band.
Ya les he comentado que he comprado discos por una sola canción. Ahora bien, si yo hubiese comprado este CD lo habría hecho sólo por esta melodía, que para mí es una de las canciones más bellas que existen, y en especial esta versión, la cual es en directo, ya que se grabó en 1995, en un concierto que dio el grupo en la ciudad de Valencia, en España. De hecho, este surco, el cual se titula La Noche, fue el nombre de esa producción discográfica de ese año, o sea, grabaron el concierto y se convirtió en disco. Ahora bien, si la anterior canción me hacía reflexionar durante mi largo despecho, esta me movió el piso (literalmente), por la letra que es de una belleza profunda, y también por la forma en que Soledad Giménez, (con una voz más madura, con bellos matices), hace dúo con Teo Caldarda, (que para mí es uno de los mejores músicos españoles de rock), quien a su vez toca la guitarra magistralmente; hacen algo totalmente MÁGICO. I have already told you that I have bought records for a single song. Now, if I had bought this CD, I would have done it just for this melody, which for me is one of the most beautiful songs that exist, and especially this version, which is live, since it was recorded in 1995, in a concert that the group gave in the city of Valencia, in Spain. In fact, this song, which is titled La Noche , was the name of that record production that year, that is, they recorded the concert and it became a record. Now, if the previous song made me reflect during my long spite, this one moved me to the floor (literally), because of the lyrics that are of profound beauty, and also because of the way in which Soledad Giménez, (with a more mature voice , with beautiful nuances), makes a duet with Teo Caldarda, (who for me is one of the best Spanish rock musicians), who in turn plays the guitar masterfully; they do something totally MAGICAL. La última canción de este ttt, es otra de las melodías que fueron grabadas por Presuntos Implicados en el concierto que les mencioné del año 1995, y se trata de Fallen, la cual es interpretada a dúo, y en versión bilingüe junto a Randy Crawford, una de las mejores cantantes de Rhythm & Blues de Estados Unidos. Esta canción fue parte de la banda sonora de la película Pretty Woman, aquella protagonizada por Richard Gere y Julia Roberts, y aquí Presuntos Implicados le hacen un bello arreglo, quedando una versión muy buena, que resulta toda una joya musical, por eso quise traérselas, junto a parte de la letra y su video. Espero la disfruten, porque las voces de las dos cantantes, y el acompañamiento instrumental, son sencillamente magistrales.
The last song of this ttt, is another of the melodies that were recorded by Presuntos Implicados in the concert that I mentioned to you in 1995, and it is Fallen, which is performed as a duet, and in bilingual version with Randy Crawford, one of the best Rhythm & Blues singers in the United States. This song was part of the soundtrack of the movie Pretty Woman, the one starring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts, and here Presuntos Implicados make a beautiful arrangement of it, leaving a very good version, which is quite a musical jewel, that's why I wanted to bring them to you, along with part of the lyrics and its video. I hope you enjoy it, because the voices of the two singers, and the instrumental accompaniment, are simply masterful.
Este ha sido mi aporte para esta genial iniciativa del amigo @ablaze en su edición número 85, a manera de homenaje a una gran banda española, que hizo música de una belleza excepcional, como es “Presuntos Implicados”.
