Today we are going to prepare our spawning net which we will lay our fertilized eggs on.

Spawning net is very important because it will enable us remove the unhatched eggs and hatched egg shell and dead frys in the pond out.

Spawning net (Kakaban) can be made with different materials and shapes.
But for this project we will make use of a net..

Preparing the spawning Net!!

We will need some materials;

A Net
Gravels
Salts.

After getting the net we have to cut the net to the shape of the hatching pond.
The side of the net should be fastened together so the net does not shrewd out.

Then the net should be washed thoroughly with a solution of salt water to get rid of unwanted particles not suitable for the Fingerlings..

Also the gravels should also be washed i n the same solution to keep it clean.

The net and gravel should be thoroughly rinsed with normal water..

The net will now be placed flat in the hatching pond and the gravels will be used to keep the net in place and strops it from floating up the surface of the pond, because the eggs needs to be constantly submerged in water at all time.
