The RV park is a free parking space for 8 RVs for a maximum stay of 48 hours. The pitches are 6.50 x 3.50m, so parking my 6.40m motorhome took some time. Later, another 8m motorhome arrived and also found a spot. In the morning some people had problems with the electricity connection. A city employee who was called over was able to quickly solve the problem. The use is possible all year round day and night. The center, the monastery, the Deep lake natural outdoor pool and a children's playground are within walking distance. There are designated hiking trails and bike paths.

I find the pitch idyllic. Right next to the site is a paddock and my breakfast was accompanied by the snorting of the horses. The site is located in nature and is very quiet. However, the access road is somewhat narrow and steep.
@vanje/4-wohnmobilstellplatz-am-schwimmbad-gernsbach
The approach to the RV park is steep and narrow. A supply of fresh water or disposal of the gray water or the cassette toilet is not possible. A sign points out that you can use a paid pitch nearby for this. Electricity is available for five campers and costs 1 euro/12 hours. However, due to the size of the site, more than 5 motorhomes can find enough space even over 8m. There are designated biking and hiking trails. 100m away is an outdoor swimming pool. For children there is a playground adjacent.

The alternative site was busy when we arrived, but after our visit to the old town there were only three vehicles left for the night. The pitch offers a wonderful view over the rooftops of the old town. The distance to the center is about 1 km on foot via normal roads. Alternatively, you can use a small path that shortens the distance to about 500 meters. However, this path is somewhat difficult, so good footwear is recommended. Signposted cycling and hiking trails invite you to explore the surrounding area.
... is a paid parking space for 12 motorhomes, which can be used all year round and offers spacious, paved and largely flat pitches. The old town is only a few minutes' walk away and there is a public transport stop nearby. Facilities include electricity connections and fresh water supply, which can be used with a prepaid card. The prepaid card for electricity and fresh water can be purchased and topped up at the parking machine. As far as I remember reading, unused credit can be paid out again. Disposal facilities for gray and black water are available. After paying at the parking machine, you receive a barcode for free use of the toilets. Thanks to its central location, the motorhome parking area is an ideal starting point for exploring Plauen's old town. There is a skate park and a small restaurant between the pitch and the river Elster. There are also signposted cycling and hiking trails in the surrounding area.

... which can be used all year round, offers space for 23 motorhomes and is located on a largely flat, gravelled area. Officially, no caravans are allowed here, but when we arrived, there were still a few on the pitch - apparently this is not strictly controlled. The connection to the city center is convenient: there is a bus stop directly opposite and the journey to the center only takes about 15 minutes. Utilities are available - electricity and fresh water as well as disposal facilities for waste (separate), gray and black water. Right next door, Bambados invites you to relax with its indoor pool, sauna and wellness area as well as restaurants. The adjoining outdoor pool is also open in summer. A nice special feature: the city of Bamberg promotes exercise for the elderly and offers reduced rates for people over 60 or with a disability pass - handy for anyone just looking for a warm shower. If you want to get more exercise, there is a public park nearby with a restaurant and beer garden, a playground and a skating area. The free motorhome site at Großer Elzpark offers space for up to 16 motorhomes and can be used all year round. The pitch is gravelled, largely flat and equipped with the most important utilities: electricity and fresh water are available, as well as a disposal station for gray and black water. There is a public toilet just 100 meters away. There are plenty of leisure facilities: The adjacent Elzpark invites you to take a relaxing stroll into the city center, just 1 km away. Our pitch for the night was the Füllekuhle motorhome site, a free site for around ten motorhomes that can be used all year round. When we arrived, however, all the marked pitches were occupied. Many campers had simply parked in the adjacent car parking spaces - and vice versa. A clear order? Not at all. Apparently, this mix is tolerated by the municipality. The site itself is gravelled, largely flat and, above all, perfectly located. The old town is just a few minutes' walk away - a huge advantage for a spontaneous stopover like ours. However, there is no supply and disposal here, so if you need this infrastructure, you should switch to the nearby campsite. There are signposted cycling and hiking trails directly from the pitch - ideal for anyone who wants to actively explore Goslar and the surrounding area.
... offers 35 spaces and is located outside the town, idyllically nestled between forest and water, right by the lake. Open from early May to early October, travelers can arrive daily between 11 AM and 8 PM. The site is grassy and mostly level, but the sought-after spots with a direct lake view are often quickly taken. The facilities are well-equipped: Two sanitary containers provide toilets, washrooms, and showers. There are also options for electricity and fresh water supply as well as grey and black water disposal. A bread roll service is available in the morning, and a trust-based fridge stocked with cold drinks allows guests to help themselves. For active travelers, there are plenty of opportunities nearby: The Mecklenburg Lake District is perfect for canoeing, sailing, or fishing trips. Well-marked cycling and hiking trails lead through the picturesque landscape. Those wishing to explore the old town island can reach it in about 1.5 kilometers on foot, passing the historic monastery complex and crossing the dam directly into the heart of Malchow.
... lies on the outskirts of Bad Sobernheim – peaceful, framed by trees, with a view into nature. Around 80 vehicles can park here on gravelled, level ground, some even in the shade. The site is open all year round and offers electricity and fresh water for an additional fee. Included in the daily rate are grey and black water disposal as well as separate waste collection – all well-organized. Payment is usually made at the nearby restaurant, which was unfortunately closed during our stay. In such cases, fees can only be paid at specific times – a notice on-site provides details, or a quick phone call helps arrange a time. There's also a bread roll service for those who like to start their morning with something fresh from the oven. Public transport connections are good, and it’s just about a one-kilometre walk into the town center. The surrounding area offers plenty of leisure activities: an outdoor pool, mini golf, monasteries, museums, and well-marked cycling and hiking trails – perfect for exploring or simply taking it all in at your own pace.
... on the outskirts of Neustadt an der Weinstraße-Hambach is a paid parking space that can be used year-round, located directly next to a swimming pool. It is accessible from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with a rest period from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The area is gravelled and partially uneven. Freshwater can be filled up for €1.00 per 100 liters, and disposal of black and grey water is available about 500 meters away at the entrance to the 1. FC facility on Diedesfelder Weg. The center of Hambach is just a few minutes' walk away, where you will find a bakery and various wine taverns. A supermarket is also just a short walk from the parking area. The Hambach Castle is approximately 1.5 km away and can be reached by foot, bike, or bus. However, the walk and bike ride are quite challenging due to a steep incline. A bus stop is located directly at the parking area. The location is also an excellent starting point for visiting the historic city center of Neustadt an der Weinstraße, which is about 5 km away. Signposted cycling and hiking trails offer many opportunities to explore the surrounding area.
The Forsthaus Beckenhof is a paid motorhome site with 15 pitches on the forest’s edge, open year-round. The site is gravelled, mostly level, and offers partial shade. It provides all a camper’s heart could desire: fresh water and power hookups, as well as gray- and black-water disposal. On the premises is a restaurant whose facilities (showers and toilets) campers can also use. The restaurant features a large beer garden that was very popular during our visit. There’s also a playground for children. The approach can be a bit confusing—GPS indicated we’d arrived, but in reality we still had about 200 meters of forest track to cover. The entrance isn’t clearly marked. On departure, we initially turned the wrong way and ventured even deeper into the woods. Marked cycling and hiking trails start directly from the site.
Our overnight spot was right by the Historic Weiherschleife - idyllically located between a stream and the edge of the forest, with space for 13 vehicles. Payment is simple via parking machine. Dogs are welcome, the area is lit in the evenings, and public transport is within walking distance. Fresh water is available at €0.10 per 10 liters, electricity at €0.50 per kWh, and waste disposal is included (also available for travelers passing through for €2.50). There are no sanitary facilities on site. But the location makes up for it: nearby attractions include the old town, gemstone museum, animal park, outlet stores, castles, and plenty of hiking and biking trails for nature lovers.
The motorhome site at the edge of Eichstätt offers space for up to 70 vehicles and requires a fee. It is situated between the Altmühl River and a large public parking area, but clearly separated on its own green grounds. The surface is mostly level, with areas of gravel turf and grass, and parts of the site offer shade from surrounding trees. A cycling and hiking path runs directly past the site. The historic town center can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. On-site amenities include a bread roll service, fresh water supply, electricity, and facilities for greywater and chemical toilet disposal. Toilets and showers are also available, although they are closed during the winter months – please check the official website for seasonal updates. Dogs are welcome, and barbecuing is permitted. The overnight fee is €14, payable at a ticket machine. Electricity is charged at €0.50 per kWh, fresh water at €1 per 100 liters, and showers cost €0.50 per use.
On the outskirts of Wasserburg, nestled between a leisure park and gentle clusters of trees, lies a free motorhome site for up to twelve vehicles. It’s divided into a smaller area with four spots next to a large public parking lot, and a newly expanded section offering eight more — though the space feels generous enough for a few additional campers. The ground is gravelled and level in most places, with some shaded spots beneath the trees. It’s a peaceful location, directly connected to cycling and hiking trails. The town center is about a 30-minute walk away, or you can hop on a bus from the nearby public transport stop. Facilities are minimal: electricity is available (prices vary by socket), but there’s no fresh water or disposal service. Dogs are welcome, and the maximum stay is limited to three nights.
Our camper spot in Kufstein was right by the River Inn, on a designated area for six motorhomes – flat, paved, no shade, but well located. The old town was just a few minutes’ walk away, with the fortress close by too. On-site: electricity (€1/3 kWh), fresh water (€1/50 L), disposal, Wi-Fi, and even a toilet – all accessible, dog-friendly. Payment via machine, €15 per night, max stay three nights, open all year. Perfect for a short city stop with a touch of Tyrolean charm.
