I hope you are having a fresh start of new week with lots of gaming hours and moments you enjoy the most in your life! š
We all know that at least for our category of people, weekends are mostly dedicated to gaming while there is not too much time for this activity during the week, so what games you've tried out? Any new achievements?
For me it was a week with some simulator games tried out as well as a new house purchased and renovated in House Flipper that I'll write more about tomorrow, but also with a rank up in CS:GO competitive matchmaking, yay!
Anyway, this time my post could be more for the simulator gamers or the fans of the mechanic series which include both the motorcycle and car editions because being a fan of motorbikes and wanting to have one of these gems on two wheels sometime in my life, I thought that it's the right moment to install Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021 on my computer and try it out.
The game started quite suddenly with no intro or such things, but with the first question which was, of course, if I want to play the tutorial.
I've always been a fan of the simulator games trying a lot of them out from trucks to fishing to renovating houses and a lot more, but somehow I never played the Car or Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator games so it was a fairly good excuse to press on the green button: Play Tutorial.
Anyway, as soon as I started the tutorial, I had to interrupt it due to the lack of FPS I was getting so since I use a 4K monitor as my main one, I thought about getting back to the menu and try adjusting the video settings which could cause me the motion sickness and the barely 20 FPS.
Here's where the first big minus comes because there are no video settings to this game. Yep, you've read that right.
I have nearly 3,000 games on my accounts and it's the first time I enter a game that doesn't come with video settings. The picture from above will show you that so you don't think I'm joking.
But yeah, as soon as I saw that I'm not able to adjust the video settings and play it in more FPS, I already felt my interest in this game decreasing pretty fast, but somehow I still wanted to give it another try.
So back to the tutorial.
What tutorial?! - I asked myself. Because there is no tutorial at all. Another thing missing.
By tutorial, I understand to learn what buttons to use in the game or what is doing every machine I'll see in my garage, but no, looks like the developers of the game have a completely different understanding of the word tutorial.
So instead of getting trained on what's this game about, I got my first quest which remembered about the tablet I use in House Flipper to read my emails. Anyway, as soon as I accepted the quest, a motorcycle appeared in my garage with two objectives that I should check.
However, there was no explanation like what I should do or where do I find the tank for the oil on a motorcycle and such things. There was only a step-by-step walkthrough for the whole mission without any explanation.
I was required to dismantle the whole front part of the motorbike without any sort of explanation or training. Anyway, let's say this is quite intuitive since I had to change the front tire, but what do we do when there is a job like increasing acceleration or max speed as it happened as soon as I finished the tutorial?
I mean, I am very passionate about motorcycles, but never thought about their characteristics or tried to figure out where I could find every single part of a vehicle on two wheels, so the game is definitely not friendly for those without knowledge in this field.
It actually feels like a very technical game made only for the real mechanics in the motorcycle field which I find no purpose to since there are a bunch more people loving those vehicles and it feels a little bit unfair to them to not be able to play the game if they don't already come with a lot of knowledge in their backpack.
I was, at least, hoping to see some sort of manual that will show you where you can find all the things requested. For example, if there is this request for increasing acceleration and max speed, to see an indication that you should work at the engine. Or something like that - I'm sure you get what I'm trying to say here. But this was completely missing again.
I won't ramble anymore saying that I lost almost two hours from my life trying to figure out how to increase the speed and where I should work on the motorcycle to bring it to the requested needs. Perhaps the single two cool things I've seen at the game are the graphics - which are really beautiful and well detailed, but which you have no control over since there are no video settings.
But also the thing that as soon as you complete a task, you'll be able to test the motorcycle and take it on a ride, which is pretty satisfying in my opinion. š
Anyway, since I haven't really managed to spend too much time in the game because I got this feeling like it's an incomplete one, I'm looking forward to hearing from those who are fans of the series and perhaps can help me figure out if I was wrong in my statements or not.
Conclusions š¤
As I have already mentioned, I do love the concept behind the name "Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021" but this feels like being way too early on the market with so many bugs and important settings missing. It's true that there are no big requirements in terms of graphics, but I think you should still be able to make your configuration and play it as you wish. So this is definitely the biggest minus.
Secondly, I don't understand why there is a tutorial setting when as soon as you want to start it you figure out there is no real tutorial or tips & tricks on how to play the game. This makes no sense.
The good thing is that the graphics look great, and being just a few months since the game was released, there is still plenty of time to improve it, but I don't have too many hopes on that when perhaps almost one half of the game is already missing, lol.
Did you try it? š
While my experience playing Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021 is quite disappointing, I'm looking forward to hearing if you tried any of the mechanic simulator games and if so, how much you like them. Maybe you even played Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021? Let me know! š
Personally, I had a moment of being in doubt if I should install the game or not looking at the ratings from the Steam market where 57% of these from the past 30 days are negative, but now I can see why.
