Now let's not make things too confusing, with "this week", I basically mean to say: In the last 7 days or so.
I am aware of the fact that it's Monday today, but with the life that I'm living, little to no structure and definitely no 9 to 5, plus it being Summer, I have long lost track of the days and, in all honesty, for me Monday or any other day does not really make a difference.
Just now, I signed another book of mine.
This specific copy of Hypersensitivosaurus and Cold Turkey will start making its way, tomorrow, to Hive friend @shanibeer , located in the UK.
Now I think of it, Shani is the third person from that island, who is about to receive a physical copy of my book. Another was @meesterboom and third, but definitely not least ( she was actually the first ), is @clareartista ( originally from Scotland but living in Italy for a decade and a half now.
I guess England is coming in third, in my list of biggest supporters, after Portugal and The Netherlands.
and now I'm thanking Hivers, and biggest supporters, I should not forget @momogrow
who was born in the UK and resides in my country of origin, The Netherlands.
I am also grateful to my supporter from Ireland @deirdyweirdy :>)
This turned into a tag fest, not my intention, haha!
but I'm going with the flow, these days, as swimming upstream is ****ing hard and I have done that for way too long.
I am also grateful to @emma-h2 , @fenngen and @nevies , who showed interest in a digital version of the book.
I also realize that @samstonehill and @justinparke are probably patiently waiting for a physical / digital version. Guys, DM me somewhere for details and we will figure something out.
And wait.... @inuke ... Did I still not send you a digital copy of my book? I think I didn't haha! We play too much chess and do too little talking...
Anyhow, it's pretty clear that Hive has played a big part in the spreading ( like a positivity virus ) of my book. I guess 6 plus years of activity on here is paying off...
I probably forgot a couple of people, feel free to leave a reply if I did.
Just don't scream too loud and wait your turn.
Or, you might want to join the club and get a hold of my book, now I've got your attention.
You can either get a signed ( physical ) version ( 10 Euros plus postage fees ) or the unmarked and less special but still pretty-awwesome-because-it's-carrying-the-exact-same-story digital version ( for 5 Euros or 5 HBD ).
Leave me a comment, if you're interested.
I have about 35 to 40 physical copies left and unlimited digital copies. And, more importantly, all the proceeds go to me, as I am self publishing this book.
Due to all the tagging, I almost forgot to mention that aside from the physical copy that I will mail to Shani tomorrow, this morning, I sold one book to a woman who used to be my physiotherapist for a while, back when I was a kid.
Or, to be more precise, my mom sold it for me/ gave it to that woman ( as she has a couple of printed copies at her place, back in The Netherlands ) and then sent me 10 Euros. This actually happened after I had a little chat with my mom, this morning, telling her that I'd like her to not give my books away for free ( to too many people ), as I put a lot of blood, sweet and tears in the process and it's more than a hobby to me.
I didn't tell her that I have felt undervalued and underappreciated for long enough, in my life but that's part of the reason.
Working on fixing that part of me.
Also, a couple of days ago ( it might even have been yesterday, haha! ), I signed a copy of my book and sold it to a Dutch acquaintance, who used to live in the same village where I first lived and where I bought a little house (in Portugal), Monte Frio. The house that I sold almost two years ago, as the place was depressing me too much.
This acquaintance had a coffee in the town where I currently live, yesterday morning, and I asked her to join me. We talked for a while and she was willing to buy my book from me.
FYI: I try to carry around a copy ( or two ) of my book, when I go out.
And, a couple of days ago, I sold two books, via my twin sister.
She literally bought them from me and I signed them and gifted them to an acquaintance ( and friend of my sister ) from Belgium, as well as to a Portuguese man, that we met at my town's river beach. That Portuguese man, in his late 50s, actually read about half of my book in one sitting, while sitting there at the beach. That was pretty cool to experience :<)
Onward and upward!
It's actually pretty exciting to see this happening, shortly after I kind of gave up on selling my book, or decided to not put any pressure on myself, letting things flow and enjoying the Summer.
TO BE CONVINUED...
