Greetings, Hiveans! My #threetunestuesday post this week is, all of a sudden, the homage to synthpop 😉 Just cause I had this festive mood and look backwards and Youtube knows what I like even too much and slips in my fave tracks and artists on a daily basis :)))
Jean-Michel Jarre - Zoolookologie

This one is old. Very, very, very old! Arrived exactly from the days when this genre was in his teen years. Jean Michel Jarre was the pioneer of electronic music and created in the beginning of 80-es some exceptional works of electronic art (not necessarily they can be qualified as 'synthpop' - but they were all about dance, synthecizers, samplers and of course very soon they became 'pop'and classics. Jarre created a lot of great albums, but if you ask me to choose one, I will not think much, but immediately tell you: it is 'Zoolook'. (I answered this question to myself long, long ago). This is one of those records where every song is a gem, a pearl that you don’t want to skip while listening to or drop out from the album, but want to return to it again and again. The videoclip, given today's technology capabilities, may seem naive and even primitive - but its a priceless example of style (and humour). I love it from the first frame to the last one!
Röyksopp - Ice Machine (Depeche Mode cover)

Not much I can say about this. Я не помню, возможно даже что я уже делился этим видео в своих предыдущих блогах - а вы, возможно, его пропустили, но эта песня заслуживает вашего внимания, lets raise awareness about it. This is a rare case when a cover version is no worse, and perhaps even better than the original. For me, as for Royksopp, this song is from the golden treasury of synthpop.
Röyksopp - Monument

Not a bad song per se, and not a great synth-pop standard; but I added it to the post for the exceptional video, featuring the incomparable and gorgeous Scarlett Johansson. The video is unofficial, it's a fan-made clipping from a movie I haven't seen and therefore don't know the name of. If anyone can tell me what was the source, I'd be grateful for that bit of information. Enjoy!
I hope you enjoyed today's music selection, and travelling around the globe without leaving the Hive. 😎 The post goes for Three Tune Tuesday challenge run by @ablaze.
