I am in the middle of this joyless autumn period; the sun never doesn't peek out from behind the clouds, the sky is always gray and cloudy (and rainy!), I don't even get out in days, not to mention the fact that I am not inspired to take any pictures... simply have no desire to! My wife got some nasty flu; sometimes it is only music that makes you happy... and of course pizza.
That's why you don't see my posts recently. I almost missed #ttt this week, I am a few days late but here I am. A little inspiration finally hit me - and I decided to introduce you to a pretty well-known band. Just a selection of my personal fave tracks from the Nightwish. Made in Finland, again!
Nightwish - Scaretale

I never took the trouble to specifically listen to the band’s entire discography from A to Z, and from what accidentally floated past me, this track remained my favorite for many years. A few years ago I discovered that YouTube had a music video for it, mixed from concert footage and images for another song. the song leaves me indifferent, but the same cannot be said about the images; The images are great, they certainly add charm to the song. But one way or another, I fell in love with this song not for the images, but for the daring arrangement, bold sound and play with rhythm, the bizarre change of musical narrative.
As a bonus, here is the official video - the source of the images:
Nightwish - Storytime

Anette Olzon, who is performing in both of those videos, was the 2nd band's soloist. It must be admitted that she put a piece of her soul into this work of art, without her this song is totally not the same, will never be...
Nightwish - End of All Hope

My 2nd favourite Nightwish song is from their 4 LP. Tarja Turunen, band's first soloist, is to blame for the dark energy and gothic drama feelings of the song. And #3...
Nightwish - Phantom of the opera

Number #3 is recognized as their #1 hit, at least one of; as far as I know, they do not perform it anymore since Tarja is not a part of the team any more.
Long story short, this live video (thanks God this was captured!!!) is the reason why I consider Tarja to be the one and only voice of the Nightwish... other ladies simply does not rank. Of course, the band is great and they produce(d) some nice music since the wreckage of initial band in 2005, but... without Tarja it is a pretty different band, and a different music. “The chimney in house is less high, and the smoke is more pale,” as they say, hehe. I am out of inks, sorry. Just listen to the music.
I hope you enjoyed today's music selection, and travelling around the globe without leaving the Hive. 😎 The post goes for Three Tune Tuesday challenge run by @ablaze.
