Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!
This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.
After that I have two other hobby debts to sort out.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
598 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #228, I am 370 reviews behind! (Lowest I have been is 314 behind)
January 2025 we are expecting Astra Militarum and Aeldari codexes as explained Here, so time to focus on THOSE Datasheets!
Astra Militarum, Leman Russ Punisher
10th Edition Index
The cheaper, Ultra Anti-Infantry Leman Russ. It has a Punisher Gatling Cannon which on itself is great, but then have a at the Unit's ability!

It costs 150pts to field and costs $70 to buy.

Weapons
This tank is armed with a Punisher Gatling Cannon and a Hull-mounted Lascannon.
It has the exact same options as the Battle Tank and the Leman Russ Demolisher so I will copy in those weapons.
The Lascannon can be replaced by a Heavy Bolter or Heavy Flamer
The tank can also have the following sponsons, sponsons are 2x of these weapons:
- 2 Heavy Bolters
- 2 Heavy Flamers
- 2 Multi Meltas
- 2 Plasma Cannons
It can also be give one of the following:
- 1 Heavy Stubber
- 1 Storm Bolter
And lastly, it can be equipped with a Hunter-Killer Missile.
Ranged Weapons
Punisher Gatling Cannon
24" Range, 20 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S6, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Lascannon
48" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 4+, S12, AP-3 and D6+1 Damage each.
Heavy Bolter
36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S5, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.
Sustained Hits 1 (Rolls of a 6 on the to Hit dice score 1 additional hit)
Heavy Flamer
12" Range, D6 Shots, Hitting on Auto, S5, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Torrent (Auto hits, just roll for number of attacks.)
Ignores Cover (Target cannot have Benefit of Cover against this attack)
Multi Melta
18" Range, 2 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S9, AP-4 and D6 Damage each.
Melta 2 (Add 2 damage if the target is within half range of 9")
Plasma Cannon - Standard firing option
36" Range, D3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S7, AP-2 and 1 Damage each.
Blast (Add +1 Attack for every 5 models in the enemy unit rounding down)
Plasma Cannon - Overcharged firing option
36" Range, D3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S8, AP-3 and 2 Damage each.
Blast (Add +1 Attack for every 5 models in the enemy unit rounding down)
Hazardous (Roll a die after using this weapon, 2 rolls are needed as there are 2 cannons. On a roll of 1 the tank takes 3 Mortal Wounds)
Heavy Stubber
36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 3 (This weapon gets 3 additional attacks at half range of 18")
Storm Bolter
12" Range, 2 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S4 AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 2 (This weapon gets 2 additional attacks at half range of 12")
Hunter Killer Missile
48" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 4+, S14 AP-3 and D6 Damage each.
One Shot (This weapon can only be fired once per game)
Melee Weapons
Armoured Tracks
6 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S7, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Deadly Demise D3 (When this vehicle dies, roll a dice on a 6 it explodes dealing D3 mortal wounds to all units within 6")
Mow Down the Enemy
Each time this unit fires its Punisher Gatling Cannon and its target is NOT a Monster or a Vehicle, the attack has the Devastating Wounds Ability.
Thoughts
20 shots! At S6! And Devastating wounds against Infantry, Mounted, Beasts and Swarms!
Devastating wounds cut right through armor and invulnerable saves. Only Feel no Pain abilities and such will help you after better peppered by this tank.
An additional bonus of a Hunter-Killer missile and perhaps another 3x Heavy Bolters.
For a really nasty combination, one would combine the Leman Russ Exterminator, which then increases the AP of the other attacks on that unit for the rest of the shooting phase.
So, you survive the 4-8 Autocannon shots at S9 AP-1 and 9x Heavy Bolter shots at S5 AP-2.
Now you take 20x S6 Ap-1 shots and 9x S5 AP-2 shots! This is a combo that will lay low MOST infantry in the game!
That makes 45 Astra Militarum Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 73.77% Completed. The total Completed is 24.89% Complete! Can I review them all?!
