My Reviews are behind - I might be posting a lot in quick succession.
Hey everyone. If you check my blog recently, then you will see that I spent quite some time in the hospital and this ended up with an eventual surgery. The surgery went well and I am on my way to full recovery.
But I have fallen behind on my 40k Reviews. I know I won't earn much from posting many posts in one day, but I would really just like to get all the reviews done for these factions before I am too late and the Indexes are replaced by the Codex entries.
I want to be able to analyze what is lost and what is gained.
I am back at home from the hospital and I am basically laying on my back. I can at least sit/lay and blog and catch up where I can.
Even though I am posting a lot and the main focus is to post, not earn, I will not switch earnings off. This is part of a Hobby Fund and Fund Raiser so those that want to upvote me are welcome to!
Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!
This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.
After that I have two other hobby debts to sort out.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!

Astra Militarum, Stormlord
10th Edition Index
A Stormlord is yet another Baneblade variant but this one I would like to think of as a moving Fortress.
This is because it does not have a "Capitol Gun". Sure the Vulcan Mega Bolter is a Titan version of Anti-horde, but this thing is bristling with short range weapons, a Transport Capacity of 40 and a Firing Deck for 24 models to shoot from!
Wow! A totally different application to a Shadowsword or a Baneblade.
It is 460pts to field a Stormlord and it costs $185 to buy!

This tank's main gun is the Vulcan Mega-Bolter. It also has 2x Heavy Stubbers, 2x Lascannons, 1x Twin Heavy Bolter, 2x Twin Heavy Flamers.
The 2x Twin Heavy Flamers can be exchanged for 2x Heavy Bolters.
It can also be equipped with an additional 2x lascannons and either 2x Twin Heavy Bolters or 2x Twin Heavy Flamers

Vulcan Mega-Bolter
48" Range, 20 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S6, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.
Sustained Hits 1 (Rolls of a 6 to Hit cause an additional hit)
Lascannon
48" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 4+, S12, AP-3 and D6+1 Damage each.
Twin Heavy Bolter
36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S5, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.

Heavy Stubber
36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 3 (Agin 3 additional shots at half range of 18")
Melee Weapons
Armoured Tracks
6 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S8, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Deadly Demise D6+2 (When this tank is destoryed, roll a dice, on a 6 it explodes dealing D6+2 Mortal Wounds to every unit within 6")
Transport 40 -Heavy Weapon teams take up 2 slots and Ogryn take up 3
Firing Deck 24 - This vehicle can use the guns of 24 models embarked on it and fire them as though it is equipped with these guns!
Mount up!
At the end of your opponent's Movement phase, if this transport is empty, select 1 Astra Militarum Infantry unit not within Engagement range of enemy units. The unit has to be wholly within 6" of the transport, that unit now embarks onto this transport.
Thoughts
So I would go for 4x Lascannons, 5x Twin-Linked Heavy Bolters, 2x Heavy Stubbers and the Vulcan of course. Plus Firing Deck 24.... Jeez...
Heavy Weapons teams are 3 strong taking 6 slots. 3 units max in an army is 9 bases taking 18 slots. This means 9 additional Heavy Bolters or Lascannons or whatever else... you still have 22 Transport Capacity left over...
Plenty options to make this an absolute firebase and when it is close to death? A mass of Astra Militarum units deploy out and they still have a lot of bodies and guns to kill with.
I like it!
That makes 57 Astra Militarum Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 93.44% Completed. The total Completed is 26.85% Complete! Can I review them all?!
