Earliest Childhood Memory

Walking with my cousin on his way from school.... for the very first time....

Being a kid I think I thought all there was to this world were my extended family members, my grandmothers homestead and a huge blue sky.

Until this random day, I think I was still learning how to walk and my cousin was walking from school to home, somehow I was with my grandmother at the other end of vast piece of land, it was used for mostly farming and growing trees.

I can't remember what specifically we were doing but my cousin on seeing us he came and took me to walk with him on the dirt road which led from his school along my grandmother's place to a nearby small town.

Before that experience I had no awareness of there being a road or even what a road was 😂, I had never seen such a long stretch of a track on going until past some bends and there were people far off walking but they were far so they kind off looked like tiny ants.

Simply to me, I thought everything was all I was seeing, no clue whatsoever that there could be something more to it.

It was all so new, so unexpected, I was not even sure what to think, I had to look around me and just turn around and around while my cousin laughed at my utter surprise.

I remember seeing a spec of something shinny off at the lower end of the road and I couldn't stop rumbling question after the other to my cousin as I took it all in. Seeing that image of a chubby kid rumbling on and on just makes me laugh 😂🤣

It was soo thrilled I couldn't wait to start attending school so I could see the different things that previously I didn't think existed and now here I was in the middle of it all, I had to know what each and everything new was, why had I not seen this before....

I haven't experienced such a thing since then, it simply took my breath away, it is funny I didn't expect it or expect anything at all and I think that is what made it soo thrilling that I haven't forgotten it till this day.

Hmmm...now that I think of it, that was the birthplace of my curiosity, there was soo much to see, much to learn about.

Before that my reality was okay with thinking that my small world of family members and nothing too interesting was all there was, but here I was just outside that small world and I was super overjoyed with the new discovery, it was all soo new.....

That experience changed my perception of everything, it led to I think my mind always wondering what else is there about anything and everything.....

I think it was the start of my awareness of what was actually going on, or I was actually aware even before but not conscious before that, 😂okay am not sure that sentence makes sense though....
